Pokémon Stadium Player's Guide

Chansey can learn many different types of attacks, including
Thunderbolt, Psychic and Ice Beam. All are good, but none is as
vital as Chansey's signature Softboiled attack.

Pokémon Gold/Silver Player's Guide

The large and in charge Normal-type, Chansey, is
a very versatile creature, capable of learning an
astonishing number of attacks from TMs and
HMs. The pear-shaped pink one has a new evolution,
Blissey, in Gold and Silver but Chansey won't
evolve if it's not very attached to its Trainer.

Versus Pokémon Player's Guide

The ever-adorable Chansey
is just as rare in Gold/Silver
but now its even better. It
starts with Softboiled and can
learn new attacks like Egg
Bomb. It can also evolve, based
on mood, into Blissey. Blissey
has pretty much the same stats:
a ton of HP, high Special
Defense, moderate Speed,
and zip in the way of Attack
and Defense, but with a better
Special Attack. It's still a healer
first and foremost, though.
