Circe's Manor THE NEXT

[Ookalf]

Marie stops, and looks at the paper. "Oh! I'm sorry, I could've sworn there wasn't anything there before..." She carefully goes around it and places the jar. "There! Sorry to bug you while you're working...oh, is there anything I can help you with?" she asks, eager to make up for almost faceplanting in color fruit products.

*Labcoat takes the time to deposit the paper in a recycling bin before answering Marie.* You wish to be of assistance? Do you have any experience working in a lab environment?

"Oh, so it isn't harmful to me if my lamp gets damaged? What a relief and nice to know I don't have to worry about that too much." Looking the cover of the book over, and checking the first few pages, she says, "I guess those were my most urgent questions for now, I'll check out the book later on my own, and read up what else there is to know about my lamp. Umm.. you said you were on break now? So are you here in the library just for fun?"

Yeah, I am. What's it to ya?

[xGoggles]

"Ah, umm.. n-nothing... Was just wondering...", Dan says getting what bashful again. Looking back at her own body she decides to turn herself male again.

[Ookalf]

*And just like that, Dan returns to her male shape.* So, are you done with me yet?

[xGoggles]

"Ahh, uh, sorry... I.. I guess I'm disturbing in what you were doing..", Dan takes a step back, looking at his book, thinking he had everything he needed from the library for now... He was about to turn around for the exit but then a thought came back to him, "Oh, wait... Umm Katie?.. C-could I maybe.. perhaps.. if you don't mind.. have your phone number? I have been gathering contacts from people in the manor, in case if something happens or.. well to chat or something..."

[Ookalf]

...Fine, I guess. *Katie pulls out her cellphone.* But you gotta give me your number, too!

Marie thinks for a moment. "Nnnno. But I learn pretty fast!"

[Ookalf]

I see. Then what skills or experience do you have, Miss...?

[xGoggles]

...Fine, I guess. *Katie pulls out her cellphone.* But you gotta give me your number, too!

"Uh-umm, yeah, of course", he says giving and exchanging phone numbers. "Thanks.. and umm.. if you ever need me.. or if I figure out this granting wishes thing for others... feel free to text or call."

[Ookalf]

Right, sure thing. See ya. *Katie walks away, leaving Dan free to do as he will.*

"Okay, b-bye", he waves as she leaves. Now again by himself, he wonders what to do now. He could find a conferable spot to sit down and read the book.. or explore some around the Manor. If anyone needed him they'd be able to call him.
Well.. if he was already in the library he might as well start reading now. Dan looks around to take a seat and read. Upon finding a nice place to sit down, sets his backpack (with the lamp) next to him and starts reading. Hopefully, the book wasn't all that boring.

"Oh, Marie! I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier," says the dog-girl. "Ummm..I'm a really good listener! It's the ears, you know. And I used to read a lot before mistress Circe took me in, so I know a lot of stuff."

"Okay, b-bye", he waves as she leaves. Now again by himself, he wonders what to do now. He could find a conferable spot to sit down and read the book.. or explore some around the Manor. If anyone needed him they'd be able to call him.

*Dan finds the book to be a fairly pleasant read, and soon he's learning all sorts of things about genies and their lamps!*

(I'm not quite prepared to write a whole book here, so I'll paraphrase an answer to anything Dan's wondering about on the subject.)

He smiles while reading. This was actually quite interesting and useful. Now knowing more about some of the histories of genie lamps and how to take care of them, he starts reading the next chapter, the one about wishes. Dan was wondering about granting people's wishes... Was there really a 3-wish-limit rule? Did he require to mess up the wishes or was that just for the genies preference? But mostly.. would he ever run out of power from granting too many or too big wishes?

*It seems as though different sorts of genies have different rules regarding the wishes the can grant. Reading about them, Dan comes to a few conclusions regarding how things will work for him. 1. There's no limit to the number of wishes he can grant one person. 2. He can grant the wishes in whatever way he likes, whether that's twisting them or giving his masters what they want. 3. He doesn't have any kind of finite power source, and he can use his magic as much as he wishes.*

Dan becomes amazed upon reading that. Seems that with finding this genie lamp he really hit the jack-pot of powers. Well besides the whole, having to be a female part, but that certainly was an acceptable trade-off. With so much magic at his disposal, he hardly knew where to start. What would one do if they could have anything they wished for...
Putting that though to the side, for now, he continues reading. What was the deal with having someone owning their lamp, if there was no wish limit, then they could potentially keep him as their 'wishing-slave' forever if they never let go of the lamp.
