Eh, you're not wrong there. She's not always super easy to get along with... But you should fine if you don't, like, try to antagonize her, or whatever.

"Ahh yeah... also heard I shouldn't bring up any 'sensitive topics' ?? Any idea which those might be?" Dan asks the maid; recalling that Eebon told him to ask some staff members about topics he should avoid bringing up near Circe.

Oh, well... I guess one thing is, she kinda doesn't like people looking down on her, or thinking she's weak, and stuff. Not that I get the feeling you'd do that, or anything. *Penny thinks for a moment before adding something else.* ...Also, she might be over this one by now, but apparently there was this contest thing ages ago that she lost and got real salty about for a while? I dunno. Like I said, that was years and years ago, way before I got here.

"I see.. maybe she tries to keep up a strong image of herself...", Dan nods listening to Penny. "Do you think it mattered what the contest was about, or was it just about losing in general, that got her upset about it? Is she a very competitive person?"

Eh, a bit of both, I think. Yeah, she didn't like losing, but I think there was some issue with the person who did win not being qualified or something? Something like that, I think.

"Oh hmm... I guess that can be upsetting... Though I'll likely won't bring up anything about contests or ever speak lowly of her anyway, so I guess I'm fine...", still a bit curious about this mystery person that apparently was able to win against Circe; but maybe it was better to not ask about it when she was around though.
Dan looks up and notices a door similar to the one he left from the banquet hall, "Ah, I think we are here"

*It does seem to be the room, though the sounds of the party have died down a bit.* Yeah, that's it. You wanna ask anything else before you go in?

*Of note is that a note has been left on the chair where Abby Dubious had been seated when the party was still in high gear. The words are written a bit sloppily, as if Abby didn't care how it looked.*

"Returned to my quarters. Apologies to Lady Circe if she sees this, but the idea of being surrounded doesn't sit well with me. ---Abby"

"W-well it was nice chatting with you; any ideas how to get back in contact with you some other time? I would ask for your number but I don't really have a phone on me", Dan does an empty pocket gesture.

Dan blushes slightly, "Ahh y-yea.. if you don't mind", handing his notepad on a blank page to Penny.

Right on. *Penny takes the pad and writes down her number for Dan.* And there you go, dude. Feel free to call me when you get a chance.

Taking back the notepad, he smiles, "Thanks, and I'll try.. umm but only during the night, right? I assume you sleep during the day if you do night-shifts?"

Eh, it kinda depends, you know? I work days sometimes, too. Why don't you just call me whenever, and I'll get back to you when I can? You probably won't be interrupting anything.

"Alright, you'll be the first number I'll try if I ever get a phone of my own here", he says with a bright smile.
Dan starts to look around banquet hall, hoping to spot Circe, if she was still around that is.
