The Princess and the Coin--A Day of Wishes

Calamity bristles at that. "Don't try m--uh?"

Stumbling back, she looks up to K angrily, waving her hand, though it does look sillier with her still holding that pacifier. "And you! You may have the little girl, but I'll have no part of this!"

[Mendi-chan]

*Mendo's about to speak... when suddenly a gynoid comes and snatches the coin!*
Hey! What do you think you're doing with that!

[Harri-chan]

Melanie turned to Calamity with a pout-like frown as she heard the girl, "You bet you won't have any part of it! I found the coin... not you! Don't you have some dolls to go play with?", she asked, leaning toward her slightly.

[Private Crudface]

Calamity gives Melanie a venomous look. "Why don't you try summoning some with all that magic?"

[Harri-chan]

Melanie's nose wrinkled slightly, but Calamity's suggestion made her look down at her hands. It was clear by her expression that she was trying hard to think, perhaps considering possible outcomes. "What have you done to me?", she huffed. "This has never happened before... ".

The girl gives a satisfied smirk.

"Just threw a little chaos in the works, girl. It does a nice job of twisting your magic back in a loop..."

[Harri-chan]

Melanie looked hesitant, something she was not used to feeling. Chewing her bottom lip between her teeth, she studied her hands a moment longer before reaching out, concentrating hard to try and conjure a doll in Calamity's hand, the one not holding her pacifier!

She can feel her magic flow...but uncertain as she is, it is easily corralled, the image of a doll flickering for a moment before Calamity...but quickly vanishing, as she feels the magic tingle through her!

...And nothing seems to happen. The next time she speaks though, she may notice that she's picked up something of a lisp...

[Harri-chan]

Her fingers and hands trembled from the sheer concentration, but she let it go, heaving out a sigh, her shoulders slumping. Her green eyes looked to Calamity's hand, then her own... before twisting slightly, looking at the floor around them, confusion turning once more into a frown.

"If what you thed... ", she begins, before cutting off. Her tongue licked at her lips, and she started again, "If what you thed ith... ", this time she stopped herself by clasping both hands over her mouth, her green eyes widening in genuine suprise.

Calamity rests a hand on her hip, finally tossing the pacifier aside.

"Hmmmmm? If what I 'thed' is what, little girl?"

[Harri-chan]

After a moment or two of looking suitably embarrassed, Melanie threw down her hands, which clenched into fists at her side as she shouted at Calamity, "You thed it would turn my magic back againtht me! Thith ithnt what I twied to do to you!".

[Private Crudface]

Calamity chuckles darkly. "Well, the essence of your magic, girl, not the intent. After all--you'd just be able to buff yourself up if that was all it was!" She pats the girl's cheek, continuing, "No no--from now on, whenever you try any more of your precious little spells, it'll just get thaat much harder to take you seriously. Not that there was a lot of reason from the start, mind you."

[Harri-chan]

She shook her head slightly, and her breathing became uneven. It looked like this was actually the worst news she'd ever been informed of. She let out a frustrated moan as Calamity patted her cheek, and now realising her magic was truly useless to her, she instead reached out to try and physically shove the other girl backwards, "The coin will reverth dith, and then you'll be in twouble!".

"Be in 'twouble', will I?"

Calamity stumbles back slightly--but catches herself...floating slightly off the ground as she crosses her arms in superiority.

"Admit it little girl--you've lost. Might as well run crying back to your mommy."

*Mendo's about to speak... when suddenly a gynoid comes and snatches the coin!*
Hey! What do you think you're doing with that!

Sighing a bit in relief, Chris G smiles at Mendo. "Oh, I think I'm about to make a wish to try and undo the one I accidentally made. Why?" She says, holding onto the coin tightly.
