Reading at the park!

[Vomica]

Sitting down on a bench at one of the many parks in the city, sits Merah. It's autumn, so she has on a powder pink sweat shirt and a pair of jeans on. The teenage girl has a book folded open onto her lap, and she is pages through it slowly. Nothing to exciting! Looks like nothing is going to happen. Or maybe. It's hard to say! But she's in the park, who knows who is going to come by and say hi. Anyone could!

[Maiden Miki]

"Hmm......." said Megan as the little chibi stood on it's tippy toes. The girl didn't seem tall enough to peer over. "What are you reading?"

[Feng]

Bones, who happens to be walking through the park for his daily constitutional, just happens to walk past the two.

"Ah, hello Megan" he says waving to the chibi girl. "How is life treating you?"

[Vomica]

Merah blinks down at Megan for a few moments, then gives a warm smile to her. Woman. Girl. ...chibi? Whatever works! She says, "...nothing too fancy. ...just a book I picked up from one of the bookstores that is supposed be full of theories on how 'spells' work, but so far the author just seems to be full of bunk..."

The girl blinks, and peers at Bones for a few moments. She recalls seeing him around vaguely... but never got his name. Or did she? In reality she doesn't remember that well, since their only encounter she received a nasty hit to the head!

[Feng]

"Eh?" says Bones, his curiosity piqued, not quite recognizing the girl from his previous encounter. "Are you some form of witch?"

[Vomica]

Merah blinks at Feng a few times, "...a witch?" The red-touched girl can't help but giggle at that a bit! She says, "Nononono! I don't do 'magic', I just study it. I'm a metaphysicist! Umm. ...look at me like a regular physicist... where as a witch would be like... well. Not an engineer. More like..." Pausing, she says "...a physicist studies how laws of nature affect machines, an engineer builds cars, and a regular person drives them! The witch would be the person driving the car!"

[Feng]

"Ah... I think I follow what you are saying. Essentially you're all about theory, yes?"

[Vomica]

The girl grins at that, "Precisely. I have no supernatural talent of my own, outside of being able to tell the difference between what is mundane and what isn't." She says, "...though since stumbling into this world... things have been complicated at best."

[Feng]

"Ah, well you possess a very handy skill nonetheless" says Bones smiling. "As the ever overused idiom goes, knowledge is power!"

[Vomica]

She grins at that! Blushing a bit, the thirteen year admits "...and that's what I try to do! I can't do much 'cause of my form and stuff. But knowledge, influence, and such... well... I might not be physically intimidating but I can still do stuff!"

[Maiden Miki]

Bones, who happens to be walking through the park for his daily constitutional, just happens to walk past the two.

"Ah, hello Megan" he says waving to the chibi girl. "How is life treating you?"

"It been good. Doing stuff here and there. You?" asked Megan as she looked up at Bones.

"Magic? How come you say that it is full of bunk?" asked Megan as she looked at Merah.

[Feng]

"That's the spirit! You shouldn't let your lack of supernatural ability or physical strength get you discouraged, especially when you have access to the most powerful tool of all."

He motions to the girl's forehead.

"I like you. You've got your priorities in order. Out of curiosity, what name do you go by?"


He turns to Megan. "The usual business, friend." ^_^

[Vomica]

Merah glances at Megan for a moment, "...I'm not saying any sort of magic is. Just this author. ...he suggesting all magic can be invoked simply with certain hand gestures and pseudo-Latin phrases. Which even the layman knows is false." Peeking back up at Feng, she smiles ""...it's... it's Merah. Merah Pelangi." The girl blushes at the forehead poke.

He turns to Megan. "The usual business, friend." ^_^

"Trying to take over the world using ancient chibi magic?" asked Megan as she looked up at Bones and blinked.

Merah glances at Megan for a moment, "...I'm not saying any sort of magic is. Just this author. ...he suggesting all magic can be invoked simply with certain hand gestures and pseudo-Latin phrases. Which even the layman knows is false." Peeking back up at Feng, she smiles ""...it's... it's Merah. Merah Pelangi." The girl blushes at the forehead poke.

"Hmm....Maybe there is some truth in it. Nothing too much but something," said Megan as she tried to look at the book.

[Feng]

"Ah, Miss Pelangi is it? A pleasure to make your acquaintance. As for me, you may call me Bones."

(Sips tea)

"From my understanding magic is an attempt to alter reality or fate. Unlike prayer, in which the individual begs for the intercession from a god or spirit, magic cuts out the middle man. That being said, I would assume it would require more than simple showmanship."

(Turns to Megan)

"Not really. I've decided to shy away from that for the time being. Too destructive for my tastes."
