Make a TF Foundation: Shay vs High School!

Veronica is crying so loudly and so desperatly that she doesn't even voice her disbelief in that statement. Nobody has ever stayed by her before... so why now? It turns out that she can't even trust her own parents!

[muffinstud]

Jess keeps holding her close. The girl rocks her slowly and rubs her back. Despite being similar in size, Veronica finds it a little comforting to let her head rest on a sympathetic shoulder. Her parents weren't there for her, but for some reason, Jess is for her, at least to hold her. And being held still feels nice and warm.

[Shy Shay]

Veronica sobs for a couple more minutes, before finally letting up, sniffing. It actually made her feel better. "Th-thanks... I feel better now..." She isn't smiling, but she does appear to be more stable.

[muffinstud]

Jess grabs another tissue and hands it to her. "You're not alone, Vicky. You can have help whenever you need it." She gives her a pat. "You never know. Maybe you'll return the favor someday."

[Shy Shay]

Veronica blows her nose noisly. "...thanks. C... could you please walk home with me? Make sure I stay on track?"

[muffinstud]

"Sure. Do you mind if I call you Vicky? Or should I call you something else? I don't want to throw out Victoria all day, you know." Jess guides Victoria out of the locker room. "What are you doing for the rest of the day?"

[Shy Shay]

"Ah... Vicky's fine..." She appears to still be a bit reluctant to talk, but she's trying, which is progress. "I... I'm going to confront my m-- my parents. They agreed to this."

[muffinstud]

Jess grimaces. "Oh. That'll be awkward." They walk out of the school and down the street. "So... how do you want to confront them?"

[Shy Shay]

"I... I don't know... I just thought I'd ask them? I've never been in this sitation before..." She walks, speaking slowly, and looking around. For a guy, but she doesn't know that conciously.

[muffinstud]

"Eyes straight, Vicky." Jess pushes her on, but Veronica's wandering eye catches Bryan at the flagpole. He's waiting there, but he hasn't seen her yet. "Just keep looking forward and we'll get you home, okay?"

[Shy Shay]

"But... but I promised him..." She sighs, clearly torn. "I promised him I'd go to the mall with him..."

[muffinstud]

"Vicky, what's more important?" Jess turns her head to look eye to eye. "Talking to your parents about changing your life without telling you, or hanging out at the mall with a guy? Priorities, girl."

[Shy Shay]

"Yes, normally I'd agree with you, but I promised!"

He's also hot, but that has nothing to do with it. Nope. Not. At. All.

"I don't break my promises!"

[muffinstud]

"It's because he's hot, isn't it?" Jess gives her a look. "You want to be with him because he's handsome and he makes you feel all ooey gooey, don't you?"

[Shy Shay]

"That has only a small bit to do with it! I promised him I'd spend after school with him... and I don't want to break my promises. I never did before, and I won't now!" She is red, but whether it is from embarisment or fury is hard to tell.
