Nick gently rubs Naru's head. "Maybe they did, they... just never got the chance to let you know" says Nick even though he has no idea what Naru is talking about.

Before Nora can get to them, Toshiro vanishes into thin air.
"Let me confirm, your shelter shield is activated?"
"What are you planning?!"
"Your shelter is secure, is it?"
"Of course it is! Just see for yourself how powerless you are!"
"...Roger that."

She creeps into one of the rooms, no idea who's it was, her tail flicking about against the backs of her legs. She groaned at how big everything seemed, but climbed up into one of the girl's beds, and wriggled beneath the sheets, closing her eyes as her head landed against the pillow.

Naru shakes her head. "You saw them! They hate me! I only want to help but I keep driving them away!" She quiets down but keeps crying. "Maybe I'm not supposed to have a family..."

You do have a family, maybe not a perfect one, but we all care for each other. I assure you that" replies Nick tenderly hugging Naru.

No responce... they vanished...

That's the sound Nora makes as she runs into the door of the house, and gets knocked back. She presses again, opens the door handle, and the crying girl falls through the door and onto the floor, crying and muttering one, unhearable word.
