Fable: The Ties that Bind (RP Thread)

Aloena nods and stays with the group, staying with Robin. "Okay, we will, Guildmistress." She then turns to Robin. "The Guildmasters have a daughter, Kathryn. She usually appears when she has missions and tasks for us."

[Tiffany Grimm]

"Good to know, thanks a lot!" Robin gives Aloena a firendly smile.

[Haylie]

Scarlet continues walking as if nothing happened, assuming the rest of the party is following her. Her large sword clinks distractingly on her back. After a few minuets, they begin hearing yelling, some of pain, others commanding, and still others of dark amusement. Scarlet slows and stops.
"What is...? Oh, it better not be who I bloody think it is... Everyone on the lookout."

Aloena nods and motions Cletus, Lyon, and Robin to get ready for anything. "Be careful....this could be those guys who tried to ambush us earlier...you think it would be bandits? Maybe we can disguise ourselves and infiltrate the bandit camps and see what they are up to?"

[muffinstud]

Cletus readies his axe and picks up his pace. "Or maybe it's someone who needs a Hero's help, not philosofizations."

(OOC: I hear ya on Fable 2. I've been off for a day, and I'm having withdrawals.)

[Shadowmaster]

Lyon draws his sword. "If it's more bandits, they're in for an unpleasant surprise." he said.

OOC: Yeah, Fable 2 is a really good game.

[Haylie]

Could it be Bandits? It certainly sounds like it...

"I doubt it's Bandits. Usually when Bandits yell like that it's because they're drunk." The yelling gets louder. "They don't sound drunk to me."

Now that they're closer, some snippets of conversation can be heard.

"Get over there! Now!"
"Please! I have a family!"
"GET IN THERE YOU STUPID BLIGHTER!" The distinct sound of a whip cracking can be heard, accompanied by a sharp scream.

[muffinstud]

"Civilian Displacement. If there's anything I can't stand, it's people selling other people." Cletus barrels towards the sounds, caring not that he's making a huge racket as he does.

[Kris_Roth]

Aloena sees Cletus rush off to stop the slavers. "He does that quite often..." She says to Robin..."Lyon, Robin, Guildmistress, we need a plan before we are overwhelmed. Any ideas?"

[Haylie]

Scarlet would answer, but she's disappeared, only to reappear a split second later in front of Cletus, holding up a hand in a "Stop" sign.
"Please don't rush in there. That will only startle them and provoke a violent response. They obviously have several more people there than us, and it won't do to get shot now, would it?"
This also seems to answer Aloena's question.

Robin sighs quietly. "So what should we do then ma'am?"

[muffinstud]

Cletus' shoulders droop and he breathes out some frustration. "What she said."

[Haylie]

Scarlet turns to face everyone.
"Simply walk in, weapons down," she places emphasis on these two words, "and investigate. If we're seen and they attack first, you have the right to defend yourselves, but they haven't attacked yet. For the moment, let's just see what's happening."

With that, she turns and begins walking toward the disturbing sounds of cracking whips and cries of agony.

Aloena nods and motions Lyon, Cletus, and Robin with her, with weapons down as their Guildmistress instructed. She heard the whippings, the cries of those being whipped, and the slavers barking orders.

Cletus rolls his eyes and puts his axe in it's holder on his back. He keeps pace with the others, keeping his arms folded.
