((No worries.))

Ian nodded wordlessly and removed his hat from his head. He flourished one hand over the hat with a bit too much gusto and then reached inside. When he pulled it out, he was holding an old, dictionary sized, book; bound in wordless gray leather, and covered with dust.

"Something inoffensive is probably better so..." Ian muttered to himself.

Then he nodded. "5012: The Key." He stated, all desire to show off gone from his face. Immediately the book flipped open, turning itself to a page somewhere around the middle.

Ian nodded and read out loud. "The Key, an ancient artifact belonging to a long forgotten god. It has the potential to open anything that is locked by draining the user's soul." Then, without closing the book he dropped it back into his hat, reached inside and withdrew a rather clunky old key.

"It's a bit convoluted to use." Ian stated satisfied, "But, it's really versatile, and some of the items in here are really powerful." Not that he could actually summon them; but no one else needed to know that bit.

/Carl couldn't help but roll his eyes at the over-the-top bit when Ian reached into his hat...but the book was pretty interesting./

"Well--we'd better hope that none of the others have a key like that, then."

/Pauses./

"Well, assuming that the doors have locks in the first place, actually."

/Standing, he took a look at the door to see if any such mechanism was installed.../

Haylie wrote:Amy followed remarkably easily, possibly because of all the noise the girl was making. She didn't even use her cane much.

"To be perfectly honest with you, and to give you a bit of a fair warning, I don't think you'll be able to handle all three of us, not on your own, miss."

The girl snorted as she stepped outside into the cool morning air.

"Who said anything about on my own?" Indeed, as she spoke several dozen balls of green flame burst into existence throughout the fog.

"You're the ones who are outnumbered."

The girl smirked haughtily as her hands burst into bright flame once again.

Unfortunately for Carl's peace of mind, the doors didn't appear to have anything resembling locks.

Amy looks ready to be sick. "Oooh. I did it again."

The poor blond girl doesn't seem to have anything resembling weaponry on her person at all, aside from her cane. Add this to the fact that she's blind and she doesn't stand much of a chance at all, it would seem.

Then, out of the blue, she raises her trigger finger and thumb to her lips and gives an ear-splitting whistle.

/Carl frowns--he didn't own all that much that couldn't be replaced...but by the looks of it, they really were on their own--no rules, and not even the most basic of safeguards./

"Well. Never mind then--it looks like they wouldn't even need a key./

/Pausing, he looks down at his clay.
He could probably craft an early-warning golem or something, but.../

Ian shook his head.

"I can only summon a few dozen things right now. That number will grow as I learn more about the weapons in there and get stronger."

----

The other girl winced slightly at the whistle, but resumed grinning after a short moment.

Nothing seems to be happening, other than the whistle seems to echo a bit too much.

Sandra chuckles having figured out what is happening with Amy. "So, minor flame spirits or just flames themselves? Either way is fine with me." She holds her sword out to her side waiting to see what move the girl makes.

The girl laughed haughtily; but continued to wait for someone else to make the first move.

Amy doesn't seem to want to move either.

Suddenly, out from the trees leaps... a canine of some kind, a gold flash contrasting with the gloomy environment, jumping directly at the spoiled girl with the fireballs, ignoring the latter. As it takes off, it lets off a loud bark and flashes long teeth before attempting a bite at her neck.

The haughty girl's eyes widened in shock as the bark resounded throughout the area. Desperately she turned to face the oncomming attacker, and, burst entirely into emerald flames brilliant enough to obscure her skin from sight. Rather than bite into a solid mass, the dog's teeth clenched nothing but flames even as, assuming the dog had no abnormal means of stopping, its momentum carried it through the flaming girl.

Oddly enough the dog wasn't burned at all by its short contact with the fire.

The girl snorted, as the flames slowly vanished. "Physical attacks won't work on me." she laughed coldly.

The dog (now that it's stopped, it's quite obviously an average Golden Retriever) stops and looks around confusedly, certain he'd hit the girl head-on... until she speaks again, in which he turns back around to growl, but doesn't move this time. Quite the intelligent animal. He would be cute if he weren't hostile.

Amy, however, is holding her cane like a rifle, with the tapping end pointed at the haughty girl and the grabbing end against her shoulder, looking down the cane as if through an invisible scope. Considering she's blind, this would look funny if she wasn't looking directly at the fire girl's head, more specifically right between her eyes, and if the end wasn't glowing a gold color. From this small gold orb fires a beam of solid light intent on at the very least incapacitating the girl. It doesn't seem all that strong, however...

/Carl nods./

"Oh well...I'll see if I can make something then, for the time being, at least."

/Massing about with the clay in his hands, Carl starts to form a small figure./
