Fable: The Ties that Bind (RP Thread)

[Haylie]

"I'll see to that, but most likely not." Scarlet continues her rounds, ending with Katt. She groans and rolls over onto her side. Scarlet exits the room, presumably into the map room.

Aloena nods...and looks over at Katt, and then Robin. "We should get going to the map room and get our gear." She gets dressed in her light blue robe and cloth belt, and puts on her cloth armor, bracers, boots, and gloves. She puts her iron mace in its special holder on her belt, and grabs her spell book and her backpack, ready to start off her journey. She brushes her shoulder length brown hair and then turns to the other girls... "We should at least have some breakfast before our training." She sighs and motions the others to come to the map room. She follows the map she was given to the map room, and awaits further instructions.

Lyon gets up and quickly gets dressed. He then heads down to the map room.

Crimson stands in the far side of the room, looking manly and powerful. Scarlet stands to his left, trying to look invisible. Now her hood is down, her face is clearly visible:

She is quite simply the most beautiful thing in the room, even more than the chandelier and accurate world map in the center of the room. The mark under her eye is actually a sun tattoo, very small, that looks more like a blemish from a distance. Her hair is brown, braided down to a point near her knees. There are marks on her neck that suggest more tattoos on her back and arms, but she still has her cloak on. The sword on her back glows methodically.

The room the couple stands in is a large one, to accommodate the students and the map table in the middle of the room, as well as the two staircases on either side of the room that leads to the students' dorms. A round window above the double doors behind the Paynes shows the Guild seal, letting the morning sunshine through to land just left of the map table. Two anti-chambers on either side of the door are visible, one empty, the other containing a glowing blue plate of some sort of energy. A sign above it says "Cullis Gate". An opening behind the students leads back into the cafeteria, where the cooks are readying breakfast.

A slam of a door sees Katt appearing on the stairs to the girls' dorm, still yawning, and stopping at the top to rest her head and hands on the railing and listening from there. nobody sees fit to follow this example, since her body language and expression is screaming "Don't bother me".

Crimson bellows. "That everyone? Good. 'Bout time, too. Alright, we're about to see what you're all made of. I hope you weren't looking forward to breakfast, because it's not ready yet." A good portion of the room audibly groans. "Silence! This is something you'll have to get used to. Hunger makes you stronger. Now everybody follow us, and no straggling! We're not sending a search party after you all."

Crimson turns and pushes through the double doors, not bothering to hold them open for his wife, who moves a bit more slowly, making sure everyone follows.

Aloena heads off with the other girls, looking for Robin and that other girl, Katt. She only knows Robin, the archery student, so she stays near her and hopes to keep up with the training, despite her being hungry.

Cletus grumbles to himself audibly. "This is just plain indecent. I get how we gotta get used to being hungry, but not when we've got a huge kitchen and bar not even a minute away." He slumps behind Crimson and follows his lead.

[Haylie]

Either Crimson doesn't hear him, or doesn't feel like answering. He just makes his way to a nearby wood, with large green trees everywhere. A sign near the entrence to these woods reads, "Welcome to Greatwood. WARNING: Bandit attacks imminent, and many wasps nest here. If you come, come well-armed."

"Here we are. Greatwood," Crimson remarked. "One of the largest woods in all of Albion. We're going to test your abilities before you get food. This is nothing compared to Darkwood, but still dangerous, and many Traders are lost in these woods every day. If you can't survive a few rounds through here, you obviously don't belong in the Guild. You're all going in, then you'll split up and make your own way to the other side, then come back. If you get stuck or injured, just yell, and Katt will come to help." He points to the black-clad girl with the bored expression. She comes forward and leans against the nearby wood fence. "But DON'T call if you can get out yourself. It's very difficult for a Hero to get help in the real world, and self-reliance is one of the hallmarks of a Hero."

He stands aside. "Well, what are you waiting for? Dive in, and be quick about it. Breakfast is getting cold for you lot."

Scarlet rolls her eyes again.

Cletus chuckles lightly to himself. "This is the test? Easy as pie." He confidently jogs into the woods and calls back before getting too far. "Any greenhorns who don't want to lose themselves better follow and keep up!"

Aloena nods and gets her mace out, and follows the group, wanting to stay near Robin, as she seems like the only one she deemed friendly enough to carry on a conversation with on her first night with the Guild. "I can heal, you know." She calls out to Cletus, trying to look back to see if the archer/ranger type was coming along. "Come on, Robin. You can use your bow to take out the wasps and I can heal you."

[Haylie]

Almost immediately, eight wasps charge at Cletus and surround him, stingers poised as they hover in a loose circle. One seizes the opportunity to take a quick jab at him.

Aloena readies a heal spell to heal Cletus, then brandishes her iron mace. "Hi-ya!" She swings her mace at the wasp attempting to hit Cletus. "Robin, your assistance is needed. Shoot the wasps down and keep them away from us. I'll try to heal this one.." points to Cletus as she swings at the same wasp she swung at earlier.

Cletus takes the hit like a champ and grimaces through the pain. He grabs his axe, casts Double Strike and takes a good swing at one of the little beasts.

Aloena readies a heal spell to heal Cletus, then brandishes her iron mace. "Hi-ya!" She swings her mace at the wasp attempting to hit Cletus. "Robin, your assistance is needed. Shoot the wasps down and keep them away from us. I'll try to heal this one.." points to Cletus as she swings at the same wasp she swung at earlier.

(Kris, to be perfectly honest, I don't think Angie's coming back any time soon, so any hope that she'll reply is most likely in vain. Sorry, but according to her latest PM, she's got stuff going on and can't get on as much anymore. Sorry)

Cletus feels a bite of pain that seems to reverberate down to his feet as a small hole appears where he was stung, but nothing beyond that. Both wasps fall rather easily, splattering bug-juice on the ground, their weapons, and themselves.

Scarlet stands by, looking slightly concerned. "I hate wasps."

Katt balances on the wood fence without much effort, looking bored as ever. "Pft. I could do that easy."

Crimson just shakes his head.

Aloena cast heal on Cletus to get rid of the poison from the insects, then continued to smack the insects with her mace.

"I. Hate. Wasps!" Cletus grits through his teeth as he chops at the rest of the nuisances.
