The Commanders:
Sakura:
The first of all the mages Monica created, Sakura initially refused to serve when Monica told her what she’d been created for. In the ensuing argument, Monica came to realize that she’d been thinking of her would-be soldiers as tools, rendering her no better than her own creator. She quickly relented on her position, and Sakura compromised, saying that she would gladly help to protect the civilians of St. Cosmos in times of war.
Sakura is one of only two “pure” mages among Monica’s creations (the other being Tomoyo). Based on the genetic data of Kinomoto Sakura and magically enhanced using research on the notorious Clow Cards, Sakura uses only a barrier jacket, a staff, and her own abilities, not utilizing any form of magitech as a weapon. Sakura is able to use her infamous cards with very little effort; merely speaking the name of one of her cards is sufficient to invoke that card’s powers. Sakura speaks in green text.
Tomoyo:
Sakura’s closest friend (and lover, some rumors suggest), Tomoyo is based on the genetic data of Daidouji Tomoyo of Cardcaptor Sakura fame. Tomoyo is in charge of reconnaissance uses extremely powerful scrying spells to uncover enemy activities and obtain up-to-date information on a battlefield. Tomoyo is also in charge of the medics and is a highly accomplished cleric capable of using a wide variety of healing and defensive spells, as well as a variety of holy-based attack spells and stat reduction spells. Tomoyo speaks in violet text.
Usagi:
Also known as Weapon S among her fellow soldiers, Usagi is the culmination of Monica’s research and technological achievement. Based on the genetic data of the infamous Sailor Moon and bolstered by magic-enhanced cybernetics, Usagi is Monica’s trump card, a living superweapon designed to turn the tide of any engagement. Her personality has been tweaked slightly to make her more like the late Princess Serenity, which has all but eliminated the airheadedness she is best known for, leaving behind a dedicated soldier who never surrenders no matter what the odds are. She usually commands the infantry, fast attack, and heavy assault forces unless her presence is needed on the battlefield.
Usagi’s armor is based on the X42S Destiny Gundam. Her weapons loadout includes twin beam rifles, palm-mounted beam cannons, a pair of beam boomerangs mounted in her shoulder pauldrons, twin beam sabers at her hips, a large beam cannon behind the left shoulder, a two-handed beam sword behind the right shoulder, and wrist-mounted beam shields.
Her most deadly feature, however, are her “hikari no tsubasa”, her wings of light. This is a powerful movement spell that Usagi can trigger at will. In practice it is nearly identical to Monica’s Flash Move spell; the primary difference is that it lasts as long as Usagi wants it to, allowing her to move constantly at speeds much too fast to track with the naked eye. Whenever Usagi uses this movement spell, she leaves afterimages in her wake. Usagi always speaks in yellow text.
Hotaru:
Based on the genetic data of the Sailor Senshi of the same name, Hotaru is the soft-spoken leader of the artillery division. Her armor is modeled after the GX-9900 Gundam X, and she comes equipped with a pair of machine pistols, a beam shield, a beam saber, and a Satellite Gun mounted on her right shoulder.
This is Hotaru’s primary weapon, an artillery piece that utilizes raw destruction mana, which Hotaru can manipulate with very little effort. At standard power settings, it can be used to attack heavily-defended positions and fortified bunkers or as an anti-air cannon, but when Monica gives the go-ahead, Hotaru can release its’ safety locks and use it in its’ full capacity as a surface-to-orbit weapon capable of destroying satellites, small planetoids, and starships as big (and as heavily-shielded) as Star Destroyers with a single shot. While it may not seem like much of a superweapon, Hotaru’s Satellite Gun does not have a cool-down period, and can be fired many times in rapid succession. The Satellite Gun comes equipped with a targeting computer to assist Hotaru with making her shots count. Hotaru always speaks in indigo text.
Hokuto:
Elder sister to Hotaru by mere hours, Hokuto is also born of the genetic data of Sailor Saturn, but her role and personality could not be more different from Hotaru’s. Where Hotaru is renowned for her friendly nature and massive firepower, Hokuto is known and feared for her abilities as an assassin, as well as the ice cold emotionless mask she never lifts except in the presence of her little sister.
Hokuto is the leader of Monica’s Special Operations squad, and is able to slip in and out of shadows with the ease of a wraith (a result of her training with Monica in the arts of shadow magic, which she and her subordinates have all mastered). Her armor and weapon loadout is nearly identical to the Deathscythe Hell Gundam. Monica calls the armor choice most appropriate, because Hokuto strikes like death itself; swiftly, silently, and without remorse. She uses a special pair of silenced machine pistols and daggers when on covert missions, and her signature beam scythe when she merely wishes to wreak havoc on enemy formations, which she does with great efficiency. Like her little sister, Hokuto can also manipulate destruction mana with very little effort, and almost always uses it as the energy source for her beam scythe. Hokuto always speaks in bold indigo text.
Suzuka:
The first artificial mage to use magitech as a part of her arsenal, Suzuka is based on the genetic data of a childhood friend of Nanoha’s whom Monica has fond memories of. Suzuka is soft-spoken and shy in most settings, but on the battlefield she fights with purpose and dedication. Her armor is based off of the X20A Strike Freedom mobile suit, and she is a good friend of the Tomoe siblings. She is also the commander of Monica’s air forces, and can usually be found on the bridge of the Flame Haze, Monica's one and only warship.
Suzuka is equipped with a pair of beam sabers, twin laser rifles, and a quartet of laser cannons, two at her hips and two attached to her wings that fire over her shoulders when in use. She also has dual beam shields mounted on her forearms. Her wings contain a special “DRAGOON” system, a series of eight remote-controlled beam turrets that detach from Suzuka’s wings and allow her to fire on her enemies from all sides.
Suzuka specializes in fighting against multiple opponents at once. She is able to split her attention between multiple targets with no loss of performance, and frequently uses all her laser cannons and the DRAGOON system at once to attack separate enemies. Suzuka always speaks in blue text.
Alisa:
The last of Monica’s artificial mage ‘commander units’, Alisa serves as a tactician and battlefield coordinator. Her armor and weapons are based off the Wing Zero Custom (as seen in Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz), and her genetic data is taken from Arisa Bannings, another of Nanoha’s friends whom Monica remembers fondly.
Alisa is a hot-headed tomboy with a soft spot for Suzuka and Hotaru. She is loud and brash and loves to solve her problems with her fists (or her guns, as the case may be), but she also knows when to settle down and discuss her issues diplomatically.
In theory, Alisa is the Grand Admiral of Monica’s air and space forces, but as the only capital-class ship in Monica’s armada is her personal flagship, the Flame Haze, Alisa currently only commands Suzuka and the forces under her command. Arisa always speaks in dark red text.
