*All right, fine. You'll be sorry when you're drowning in cross-galactic distance charges.*
(The image turns around, and then exchanges his cap for the traditional Black Mage hat such that no-one can see what's hidden beneath the shadows)
*Stupid infection, pushing us off-planet... economy's so bad up here that I need to hold two jobs to make ends meet...*
(He turns back around)
*This is MASA. Whaddya want?*

Laharl defaced the Mage Star. And no one really listens to the Dark Court. So really its just paying you to blow up a simple building and to be neutral.

*Why do you keep insulting my intelligence? I don't like it when you do that.*
*First of all, I'm not about to take your word on who or whatever it was that carved the Dark Hero's face into our secondary fleet bays. Second of all, WE listen to the Dark Court because we have many common interests. And finally, betraying a current allegience risks our reputation in the long run. You're not asking us to "be neutral," you're asking us to severe a contract and directly assault the facility of a current customer and ally.*
*I believe that about sums it up. Do you have anything even REMOTELY compelling to say, or can I get back to my soaps?*

what are those common interests?

Of course I was thinking Half a billion HL might have been compelling enough but I doubt that's the case..

*Well, 500M is certainly better than your last attempt to secure a contract, I'll give you that. Kudos on developing some small measure of business sense.*
*As for those interests, Laharl Plushie is working to turn the Violet-corrupted ruins of our once-great city back into a place where all plushkind can prosper once more. The very first measure that he passed was a ban on Tomapples in an effort to restrict the disturbing spread of Violet. That alone warrants, at the very least, our non-interference until he gets a chance to attempt to implement these policies.*
*Besides that, and the obvious monetary interests in working with an overlord, he's a close confidant of our primary stockholder, Black Dragon. So additionally, we have another connection that we here at MASA feel is not in our best interests to betray.*
*Besides, did you ever stop and think what you're asking us to do? We're going to side with YOU against LAHARL PLUSHIE? That's a little more than a business risk, there.*

Fine, could I pay you simply to stop interfering not to help, not to hinder just to get out of the way?

*Your efforts against the Violet threat have been noted, although you seem oddly hesitant to take a very active role... it's been suggested that you might find it difficult to interfere with any process that converts more unsuspecting citizens into women.*
*But that aside, you're still asking us to breach a contract. Just money isn't going to be enough. Especially since we're currently holed up in orbit where it doesn't do us that much good. Don't you have anything else to put on the table? Besides your questionable raw materials?*

I could set you up with Umbral gates.. to access the variety of places just off phase like the spirit world... or the shadowlands..

But you are right ultimately I like change. That's why I am just as angry at Laharl as I am at the violet menace. I want guys turning into girls and then other things i don't want "everyone is stuck as something".

*Not interested. We already have more planes of existence to investigate than we'll ever actually get to, and we only tap into them for some of the local creatures or ambient energies anyway.*

*You seemed very upset when he "changed" the women of the forum unattractive. As were many of us, actually, but it's just an interesting point.*
*You must see, then, that our goals and motivations don't parallel very much. We're not fond of any sort of change save advancement. When something is good enough, you either leave it alone or carefully improve it. Change is for when a system becomes so thoroughly corrupted that it cannot be salvaged. Like, say, Muffinville...*

I was annoyed. And change keeps the economy going, with all sorts of cures and what have you.

Then would you be kind enough to tell me what you need up there.. after all you don't need metals or minerals.. you don't need money.. what do you need?

*Absolute rubbish. Advancement is what keeps the economy growing. As for what keep it going? Some companies have been selling the same exact goods for centuries without any change whatsoever, and with ample success; the economy isn't dependent upon change. Don't think you can charm me with cute little catch-phrases. I am quite tired of listening to you spout this nonsense.*

(The plushie is obviously quite annoyed)
*It's obvious now that you don't realize that by me meeting with you, us good and generous folks at MASA are doing YOU - an entity very well-known for being dishonest, whimsical, prejudiced, and dangerous in your dealings - a favor. We are giving you a chance to sell yourself and what you have to offer.*
*You have utterly failed to do so. TWICE. This meeting is over. We will not be meeting with you again, unless perhaps a meeting is set up by one of our partners or something occurs to make us change our stance. Goodbye, Ma'am.*
