"Hmmm, I hadn't really considered the sword doing anything..." Remi said as he continues climbing the stairs. "Maybe it's meant to help us on our quest."

As the thing brushed against Rodin's arm, instincts kicked and he quickly turned to strike at whatever touched him, he hated being touched by things he couldn't see. Not being able to draw his bow due to holding the staff, he swung the staff at whatever it was that touched him, hoping to hit it with the atrium at the top.

Outside Shale found a tasty looking rock sitting on the ground. He picked it up and started crunching into it when he remembered something. He turned to the mill owner and swallowed his gravel. "Master Miller, I must thank you for helping us. I don't know what I'd have done without your help. If there's anything you need me to do for you, I'll do it."

"Very well sir, I shall tell the King your orders." Gael says, bowing slightly. He pauses for a moment hearing the large man's question then answers. " We are to return to the Castle for further orders. Your town was the last duty on our list today. Why do you ask?"

"Er..." He voiced, wanting to help but knowing that he had no idea how to tend to a wound like hers. He squirmed a bit and felt bad for not having what she needed, made worse since he didn't want to lie. "I... Can't say that I've ever taken care of anything quite like that..." Muttering a bit under his breath, more to himself, he added, "just scrapes and minor lacerations..."

In the end he turned his head away, ashamed of his inability to help.

(have i kept you all waiting long enough?)

Zelda smiles dimly, "I guess not all dreams are premanitions... This is the first one to prove that to me though..." she sighs and leans back thinking to herself. The bleeding has slown sufficiently, but the toxin can be seen continueing to make its way through her veigns, turning her skin into a web of purple breaking the perfect ivory of her natural self.

The Mill owner scratched his head in responce to Shale, "I'd really like the river to be unblocked... I'd of course lend you a hand if you want to head upstream."

"If it's not too much of a bother good soldiers, I'd like you to escort a maiden to a very secret location. News of something plauging Hyrule makes me feel the Goddesses are growing weak." The mayor crosses his arms waiting sternly for the soldiers to accept.

Rodin, your quick parry causes you to loose your footing and fall flat on your back. Nothing brushes against you again, but you can still feel the presence of whatever's lurking down here.

Jaena, you can't see anything, but holding the mirror out causes a small stream of light to reflect from high above, into the fog before you. The ray of light seems to make a little bit of the fog dissipate.

Remi, you reach the top of the staircase. It's freezing up this high, and Domi lets you know so, "Bbbbrrrrr! This sucks Remi, do we really need to find the dragon?" At the top of the stairs you find yourself along the rim of the volcanoes mouth. It's a long way down, and besides some gently falling snow there isn't much up here for you. Maybe if you could see things that aren't there a new path could be reveiled.

"That shouldn't be necessary, Master Miller. As long as I can get a good snack out of it, it would be my pleasure." Shale smiled big enough to split his wide face in half and trotted along the stream towards the blockage.

Achoo walked out of the mill house with his head down, wondering if there was another way to get her help. Princess or not, he felt that the life at stake was important. If only he could think of something before it was too late...

...And that's when a flash of light caught his eye. He looked up, hoping that it was what he thought it was, but was disappointed to find only the sun's glare from a house's window some distance away. What had he been hoping for, anyway?

He took a few more steps, lost in thought, and kicked a rock out of his path. He paused when he heard the rustle of leaves, then glanced up to see that the rock had shot into a bush. He was about to disregard it before he finally realized what had been on the fringes of his conscious mind all along: faeries! Faeries were well known for their healing powers... And hadn't he once been healed by one when he had been young?

Now determined to find himself a faery, he searched the bush that he had disturbed with the rock, but, unfortunately, he had come up empty. He tried a few more bushes nearby but found no faery in them, either. He rushed around, looking frantically for more bushes, when he remembered other places that he should keep in mind to look out for.

After a few more bushes and overturned stones, he found something that held a lot of promise: a hole in the ground that was concealed by tall grass. He climbed as far down it as he could before he had to let go and fall in. Even if he couldn't get out, he was fairly certain that he could ask a faery to fly out to the princess. Well, if he found one, anyway...

He moved out from under the pillar of light that shone in from the hole above, and he wandered further in, his eyes not seeing much while they still adjusted to the dark. He didn't know what he expected to find in this place, but he had a vague idea about faeries liking their privacy... and wasn't this private?

Further in he spotted something glowing in what could have been a bush, and his heart raced as he rushed for it. He parted leaf and branch to find a faery, who appeared to have been startled by his actions.

"I need your help!" Came out of his mouth without thought.

"Oh, are you hurt?" She asked with sincere concern before she cast her eyes over him, trying to spot the problem.

"Ah, well, it's not for me, you see..." And he quickly explained the situation to the faery, who nodded her understanding. "Can you help her?"

"Yes, of course!" The faery replied with conviction, then quickly darted past him. However, as soon as she had passed him, she had stopped. With her back to him, he couldn't see the odd look on her face as she said, "Oh, and there's a small fountain further in."

And with that said she was lost to the darkness before he could blink his beady eyes. He stood there, more relaxed now that he had done what he had set out to do, but he still didn't like the idea of being stuck in the underground cave. Still, even though he saw nothing but darkness ahead, he rubbed the underside of his nose and made his way in further, where the faery had mentioned something about a fountain.

(OOC: Hey, Stellar, do you want to control the faery heading for Zelda? Just figured that I would ask. :O)

Jaena thinks to herself, dang useless... look at that it is reflecting the light from above.... "Well mirrors do do that." She reflects the light off the mirror looking around at her surroundings.

"We'll look around a bit longer, and if there's nothing up here, we'll go back." Remi says. He draws his new sword. "Just in case." he says. "Who knows what monsters could be up here?"

Rodin quickly got back up and stood at a ready stance. ((I assume that I've reached the bottom of the stairs, correct me if I'm wrong.)) He held the staff in front of him as one would hold a sword, not wanting to take the time to lay it down and draw his bow. He wasn't sure if the presence was hostile or not, so he stood waiting for some noise or sign of it's intent.

Gael paused in thought for the moment, then turns to face his fellow soldiers. "<Enter Soldier #1 name here> and <enter Soldier #2 name here>, you two report back to the king and tell them the Borderton will remain in their town." He turns to face the large mayor. "I will be arriving back in the castle after I escort the town's priestess to this "secret location"..." He say to the gaint man, crossing his own arms.

(Guen, your post is still on the previous page. Everyone else, get set cause this is the third time I've gone to make this reply XD I've lost a good deal of the papers I had that mapped this out but the things I can't remember are mostly names [of characters that have yet to be introduced])

Gael:
The two soldiers exchange good tidings of your extended venture, and take their leave heading back towards the hills leading to Hyrule Castle.

The mayor nods and waves for Gael to enter his home, "Come, I've got a map that'll get you to the sanctuary with little hastle." He heads to a chest seated next to a piano and pulls a key from his pocket. "The maiden on the other hand," the mayor looks to Gale, "Is my daughter." *CLICK CREEEAK* the chest is lifted open, "As a Hylian Knight I don't expect any less than the finest protection from you."

Shale:
Food over rational thought, decent way to look at the situation. You head upstream by yourself. It's no short walk, but on the bright side among the mudbanks you do find a few delecasies (I'm not even gonna attempt to spell that right at the moment XD) thus far in your path.

Achoo:
As you go further into the grotto, you do indeed find a fountain. It's made of the finest marble, contains the clearest water, is lit with a soft energy from two torches, and a pedastal (again, my greater spelling ability is horrible right now -_-) at the base of the fountain has the crest of the Royal Family; the Triforce. (like you didn't know that =p)

The fairy that Achoo found quickly hones in on the princess. As it flys about it rushes past Shale, Damali, and the mill owner before entering the mill.

Jaena:
The fog before you clears out fairly quickly from the stream of light you're reflecting. The path appears to narrow and lead upward.

Rodin:
The unknown presence can be heard scuttling around, in it's blind path it passes near enough to the stairwell to glimpse it's silouhette and green scales. Since you don't know what a dodongo is, you assume it's some strange reptile. As you figure this it arches it's back takes a deep breath and fire seems to form from deep in it's gullet.

Remi:
Domi flutters about, "Look! The fog is clearing down where Jaena is!"

There's nothing really noticable about the mouth of the volcanoe after circling the rim once.

As soon as he sees the fire starting to build, Rodin quickly swings at the lizard using the staff as a bat. He wasn't familiar with the lizard, but he certainly knew how destructive fire was.

Jaena walks along the newly formed path following it upward.
