The higher standard of physical perfection for women is not something you can make a blanket statement about. In Denmark young men and teenage boys spend more money on clothes and personal grooming than the girls of their age for example. And they are also more likely to perform any kind of action to appear trim and fit and healthy than the girls. It is the opposite here really and i am quite sure that Denmark is not the only place where it is opposite in fact. Probably many of the more cosmopolitian and cutting edge parts of the US as well for example and large tracts of Europe in general.

Well, I was citing this country as an example, okay? I didn't mean the entire world as a whole. You can't deal in absolutes to that degree. I was talking specifically about Americans, even though I didn't say so.

I think most Americans are just in love with the idea of perfection and inventing new ideals than actually practicing any of it, anyway. Many people live in their head, not in their body. :?

Well, yeah, it's gonna be different in different parts of the world, to a point. I think biologically it's the same everywhere, but societal roles and expectations/pressures can change depending on where in the world you live. Unfortunately, some places are still pretty extreme and your place in life can be dictated by your reproductive plumbing.

But take it all away, and well... we're all human first. And humans all have problems and face hardships. And unless you live in one of those places with more extreme rules for gender, you can't really tell someone that you think their life must be easier/better/more fun/whatever just because they're male or female.

I mean, I've got boobs and I have WAY more hassles in my life than I'd like, sankyuu very much. I could use more fun, but there ain't no Magical Female Fun Fairy coming to visit me. Blaaaaah. XD;

And I suppose we can leave it at the fact that the world is fullllll of different people in different situations! NOW IT IS TIME FOR ICE CREAM. @____@ *Dishes it out* And like... back to the poll. Yes. >_>

I hope that ice cream is sugar free... <.<;

However, there IS one thing that makes things fun. It's called "Friends". And I'm not talking 'bout the TV show. >.> (Ew.)

Well Denmark might be slightly more relevant to the US than Sudan. After all both Denmark and the US is heavily affected by the same trends and cultural forces, the US just has an odd way of both being slower and faster than Europe at adopting new trends. Also i think that the expectations are different in different parts of the US. At least everything i have seen gives the US as large a difference in modernity as between Croatia and the Netherlands.

You know, don't flog me... but the whole "Girls vs Boys have it easier/have to be perfect" subject in regards to a persons gender identity and transgenderism has to be the stupidest argument ever ^_^;

Now think rationally... do you really think anyone would really decide to undertake something as risky, scary, and exhaustive as sexual transition just because they thought that the other sex "had it easier" or "demanded less perfection"... ^_^...

(oh and I have friends in Croatia and the Netherlands and they are like the same personality in two bodies ^_^)

Of course it is silly. I am just somewhat annoyed by the myth that women are held to impossibly high standards of personal grooming whereas noone cares about men being slobs. Both are held to high standards of grooming in all but the most old fashioned places.

As for comparison about Croatia and the Netherlands i realize that there are quite a variety of people in both places and old-fashioned people in the Netherlands and modern people in Croatia. Just like a comparison between San Francisco and Idaho or Utah.

here in Indiana everyone just wears flannel and crappy old jeans, so by actually washing yourself in a shower and combing your hair you arleady have better grooming than the many of the locals ^_^

Not actual surgical transition, no. But the whole discussion started when someone said they would like to be transformed into a girl because it seemed to them that being a girl is less hassle and more fun than being male. And so they were corrected on that. And somehow it blew up into a big thing. Everyone needs to relaaaaaax dood. >_>

*Shrugs.* Meh, I am far too into shifting form and function too much to choose any of the available options. Would rather be handed general shapeshifting powers and that way I can be whatever is required at the moment. To be stuck as one or the other would be far too annoying. Since that isn't currently an option, go sci-fi level nano-tech, I will settle for staying as I am at the moment thank you.

Appears behind Musa, she snaps her fingers and two very attractive Bishi's with out shirts appear and begin to wait on Musa hand and foot. One even gives Musa a back massage. "How this Musa? ^^"
