Hold it! Phoenix Wright needs your artwork!

This link will take you to a contest currently being held by Capcom. The stakes: the localization of Phoenix Wright 3!

You just take a B&W one page comic and some text bubbles they made available on the contest thread, and put in your own captions. You have to make the case for the game coming stateside, otherwise Phoenix Wright 3 may never make it into our grubby American hands! As if that weren't enough for you, the three best entries get some Phoenix Wright prizes.

Unfortunately, they've limited contest entrants to Americans only, but anyone can submit an entry just to show their support for Phoenix!

Anywho, I decided to post this here instead of the Video Game room because I plan on sharing my entries with everyone when the contest is over. Hopefully you guys will too. :D

Templates are annoying and stifle creativity. Only reason I wouldn't do it.

Also... well, this is basically free marketing, there's no way they'll suddenly say "Oh there weren't enough entries, we're not going to bring the third game here after all!"
Capcom's not that soulless. :P

Don't think of them as stifling, think of them as helping! :D

I managed to do a few things with the comic that one might call "clever", so you should give it a shot too! I also don't think whether or not PW3 gets localized depends on this contest, but it's still fun to show your support to such a unique franchise. Plus there are prizes~

I just finished my first comic tonight. I'll post all three of my entries when the contest ends at the end of February.

Alright, here are my three comic entries!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v714/ ... ruggsH.jpg

This is my "serious" entry, titled "Hooray for Turnabouts!". I used the actual game sprites as reference for the color and shading, since that's pretty much what every image in this comic is.

This is one of my joke entries, titled "Internet Fads". For sticking the scouter over Phoenix's face, I found an image of just a scouter, flipped it, and distorted the image so it would stretch properly over his face. I even changed the shading on it so you couldn't tell the thing was upside -down.

This is my other joke entry, titled "Tomo Ya!". In hindsight, I should have fit the word "Turnabout" in every title, but all well. Replacing the "Objection!" graphic was kind of hard, and I couldn't help but think there was an easier way to do it than the way I figured out... although exactly how I did it escapes me now. I know it involved layers and too much erasing.

Hopefully you guys will share your works too~
