There is absolutely no way this is coincidence. The image is exactly the same, down to the shading, aside from a new coat of paint and an eye adjustment. Aside from that, even if there was no original to compare to, there is obviously a vast difference in the skill of the artist from Shay's work and Hobbitmon's work. There's no way to pass this off as yours. Next time you steal art to claim as your own, at least try and make sure it matches your already-posted works.

Better yet, don't steal art period. Do your editing, that's fine, but at least give the original artists/editors credit.

That's a possibility, but to be honest, the quality of that Matt pic is a bit better then the quality of the later work, particularly when it comes to faces. I mean, apart from using Digimon characters in all of them (except for the one that looks like Minimoon), the similarities just aren't there and the cleaner work goes towards the one that's shared with Hobbitmon. Besides that, look at the things that are there in both of Shay's other pictures. The eyes are the exact same in regards to the color and distance of eyelashes/ positioning of eyebrows. You can tell that Betterhalf 1 and 2 came from the same artist. The matttg one, though, is entirely different. It seems less likely that quality of work would go down with experience, but that seems to be the case. Now, Shay does have every right to defend the accusations and they may very well be erroneus ones, but like Kyou said, the chances of this being a coincidence is very slim.
