A Piece of Cr-- Art!

Postby Haylie » Fri Jun 06, 2008 5:55 pm

This has absolutely nothing to do with anything, it's mostly a test page. I am not trying to show off because I am perfectly aware that MY ART SUCKS.

On that note:

LOOK AT IT.

She's cute. You need to work a bit more on how you proportion and shape things, but I see potential here. :)

Okay, I like your shading, and you have a good sense of pose. But again, you need to work on your proportioning. The torso was too long for the breadth of shoulder, and the arm that was down also appears overly stretched, and the head is somewhat too small. The feet should be bigger too, on a male. I know proportions are a tricky bugger. Just keep practicing, and don't be afraid to reference models and art books. That's really helped me improve my art. You get better by doing, so make sure to continue doing so!

ah the human form. A challenge to tackel for the inspireing artiest. I sujest collecting refrence material and pratice copying it. Also consider inverting is art books and trying different teqnics you like. learn, pick, and choose the ones you like and build up your knowlage.

Doing this is a good way to "self teach" drawing to your self.

Those are pretty good poses. With some practice you could probably cook up some amazing stuff there.

More here. I just now decided to upload these, so please don't hate me.

A little cover art for a game/movie/comic I hope to someday make--or at least help to do so.

Seems I have a preference for notebook paper.

These are both a bit old, so it's not all my fault if they're a bit smudged.

Again, not bad. You have a good eye for the cinematic. Make sure to keep nurturing that as you practice. You just really need to work on your proportioning and detailing, really. Get some reference books, keep practicing, and things will gradually fall into place. :)

And another.

Please note this is purely a work in progress, though I'm not even sure if I'll even get to work on it anymore.

Hopefully he's at least faintly recognizable, even with a different name.

Not bad! I like the intensity of the expression. You have a nice sense of dynamic. Now, I would say the shoulder came to too abrupt a point. I see where you were trying to show shape of fabric there, but always remember what lies under the fabric. And a shoulder wouldn't point so suddenly. If you want that point, the shoulders need to be broadened a bit, and it needs to stick out more to compensate.
