Puns...

Yeah, y'know... Just wondering. I use puns day in and day out, 'cause it just seems to be something that I enjoy. Probably because the only thing that I'm good at is yapping my trap and spewing ideas forth from it.

Oh, and I just improved upon "the pun is mightier than the sword."

<.<

>.>

The pun is mightier than the drows.

Awesome, don't you think? A sword has no might all by itself, and it doesn't really apply to the present day... 'Cause swords aren't impressive at all in comparison to guns and missiles and all that. So, I figured that an actual race has might. But the pun is mightier still because there aren't any drows to contest it. XD

Puns are sheer delight, to me. I find them pun-tastic. :)

Puns are the best thing ever. They make you groan. The better the pun the loader th groan. For a really punny series of books check out the Xanth series.

Also read Spider Robinson's Callahan stories. He's the one responsible for turning me into a punster. Well, not entirely; in my family, punning is practically genetic. But Robinson triggered it, for me. :)

I created puntastic....Anyay, we know from facts that Nikkou is the punmaster.
So, they are to be considered a delicacy.
So said the wanderer, mindful of such things, as he swept away with the wind, never to be seen again...

CS:

But some can make you do other things than groan. XD Though, admittedly, puns seem more like conversational challenges than jokes. Puns just add that certain something to a conversation that makes it different from other conversations that you may have had. Unless you talked about the same thing and used the same pun during that. <.< If puns were a flavor, it would be sour. But there are plenty of people that like sour. It's just a matter of taste. ;p

Gwen:

My family is pretty much as boring and funny boneless as the average family can get. Out of all of my family that I know, I seem to be the only one that isn't dull and takes life seriously. Though I guess a life of work and family can drain your sense of amusement. So, despite how my life has turned out so far, I've still managed to see the rainbow awaiting for the storm to pass.

OwS:

I am the master of the puniverse! *_* Sorry; couldn't help it.

I'm sure there are better than me out there, though. But I do enjoy making puns. I make at least one pun every day, even in my head on those days where I've actually been in contact with no one. Though, around MSF, I think I make anywhere between three and five every day on the messageboard. And if I'm actually using an instant mesenger, even more do I make. XD

Either way, one fact remains: I'm a pundit of puns. XD

Stellar:

Hey, save some for me! :P

Yeah, but the audience that you could use "The pun is mightier than the drow" would be quite small, as I'd wager most people have no idea what a drow is.

Drows. ;p

And while many may not know what a drow is, the fact remains that the main expression is that of a race. And I'm sure that most would pick up on the pun being mightier than some race or another. Though, perhaps I'm leaning too far on my own perceptional method of distinction... The word "drows" doesn't come close to any English word with a definition that people would likely know other than drowsy; so I would imagine that many would then assume it to be a name of something. Of course, if you consider the word "drowse", "drows" could be a double-pun. Just think about it. *_* It's awesome! XD

...

Puns are best, in my opinion, as part of a meta-joke. Oftentimes, they aren't a good joke by themselves, and are rather groaners. It can be pretty funny, when half the joke is how BAD the puns are!

Xanth, however, manages to use puns well thanks to the magical abilities...

Everything in moderation. I find that puns are funniest when completely out of the blue

When you're a punster, a load groan can be just as satisfying as laughter. The point is getting a reaction at all. Oh, and Nikkou, I hear you on being in the work force and what not sapping a person's humor and personality and so forth. That has the very real potential to do that, and is quite common. I keep having this nagging worry that it's going to happen to me, and I'm making a concerted effort to fight said mundanity.
