I wonder if it was the part where a person, or people, are possessed by the minister's enthusiastic speech.

They give enthusiastic speeches during funerals?

My family's been pretty good at having optimistic funerals, especially with the death of my grandfather this past summer. We all cried, sure, but we were in high spirits, and god forbid, laughing, a great deal as well as we exchanged stories during his service. It served as a good basis for me to remember my grandfather, anyways, since we were close as well.

I've never been to a funeral. But, if I ever planned for one, I'd take the old advice that seems to be rarely practiced and make it a happy event, like a birth or a wedding. I dunno. Feeling sad kind of feels selfish, to me. I'd rather be happy that they had lived a life, rather than sad that they're no longer in mine. I don't think I'll ever have to worry about such a thing, though, since I'm not close enough to anyone.

Nah. Just life. I'm not happy, but nothing says I'm supposed to be. All anyone can do is just be.

Aw, don't count yourself out yet. Be open to the possibility of happiness, and it'll find you, one way or another!

Oh, I'm not closed to the possibilities; far from it, in fact. I just don't see why it should matter. Lots of people aren't happy, and they usually stick it out no matter what they intend to do with their lives. In the end, I'm just used to being as I am.

What do I believe in?
I'm what you'd call an eclectic Pagan. I'm apparently the second member on this forum who believes in multiple gods (based on the poll =P). My belief system is a bit complicated to those who don't understand though, because I don't exactly fall into any particular faith. So I'll try to explain as best I can. But mainly, I believe in reincarnation, karma, and that magick is everywhere around us if we know where to look. I have an affinity towards lunar goddesses. To me, the moon has a really mystifying quality to it, it always has. And I practice all my ceremonious prayers at night because of this. :3

Just looked back to see what became of this thread... (*stopped talking about it because I was depressing myself*) HAH! Still no interventionary evolutionists! Take THAT Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull!

But I'm glad this poll/discussion is giving people a place to express their opinions... its quite interesting.

You're interesting. Oh-ho!

I haven't really learned much about lunar goddesses in "pagan" religions, but I have an affinity with the moon in general. I guess that makes me spiritual rather than religious. (Of course, it helps that I'm a Cancer and born on a Monday.)

Eh, I picked evolution but I'm also agnostic as well. Doesn't mean much other than the fact I sit on the fence between athiest and religous people, some things can be be explained, some can't.

Plus it's interesting to read about what others believe :O

I'll quote some of my own poetry:

"Life,

Circular definition?
The cause of its effects,
Causing effectively nothing,
All affected by the fact,
That there's no turning back.

You live, you die.
Don't wonder why.
No matter how hard you try,
No matter how much you cry,
Your end will only draw more nigh.

Death,

The means to the end?
Of the end of your meaning,
Meaning your ending is but a mean.

You wax, you wane,
Again and again,
Resistance is vain.

Unavoidable?
You bet!

But try to have some fun in-between."

So I guess you could say I believe in hedonism (IE that pleasure is the actual, and also the proper, motive of every action).
