Lian:

We're not drones like you! :O

Sophia:

No. The meaning of "is" is clear. It puts the other two words into context. If you have anything to question, it's only what "knowledge" and "power" are.

And don't ask for the meaning of "are" because if its relation to "is" and "be", or I'll slap you upside the head. U_U

"Is" can be unclear, though. Just ask Bill Clinton's lawyers.

Sophia:

Who cares what any lawyer says? Words are their playground, and this is not a playground.

"Is" is simply a definitive indicator. And there's no ifs, ands or buts about that (or this).

Lian:

That's a very narrow definition of it. Power is not all about labor within any given time. You might as well add money to the equation so it makes sense. ;/

Power is many things. Or many things are power, at least. Kind of like there is no knowledge that is not power, but there is some power that is not knowledge.

And if that doesn't illuminate how the word "is" can vary in meaning, your mind is clouded young padawan.

Again, someone is missing the point. I want to cry.

The question is: Is knowledge power? Obviously, if you think that not just any knowledge is power, then knowledge isn't power. In that case knowledge would only have the potential to be infused with power, rather than power being innate within all knowledge.

And I reiterate: There is no knowledge that is not power. Even if it's only a small amount of power, any knowledge is still power.

At the very least, it's the power to get a particular trivia question right. :P

So you believe that knowledge is power. What are we arguing about, then? X_X

Power=Work/Time

I'm glad you got that one, Lian. :P

Anyways, while I won't say that knowledge boils down into power directly, having knowledge does make it possible to obtain/make power when applied creatively.

If knowledge isn't power directly, then how can it be power at all? If it can lead to power, knowledge would be the factor that understands which roadway leads where, and which way is where you want to go; not the the legs that drive you to your destination afterward.

Well, lemmie restate that. It's your intelligence which allows you to use your smarts/knowledge to generate power.

If you wanna make it easy, I'm sure I could design electrical plugs for me to put into peoples heads and then we can really test this. :P

So... Now power is completely relieved from intelligence and smarts/knowledge? If you need them to generate power, then what is power? Action? But action isn't knowledge. :O

No, power is now to be measured in cookies and milk, work by eagles, and time by bedposts.

And knowledge is a nerf gun. :P

I can tell because you just nerfed logic in the nads.

Which means that, since I'm the only "no", I must be right.

I knew there was a use for reverse psychology.
