Just something that I was thinking about last night, since I couldn't get any sleep. I thought it summed up humanity well enough, and I figured that I might as well see what others thought about it.

If you don't understand the meaning of the phrase, it more or less means that if there's something left to do than someone's bound to do it, for better or worse. From amazing feats to horrific atrocities.

I agree. It may not be any fun, but somebody's gotta do it.

I'm going to be positive and say if there's good to be done, someone will do it, even if I can't do it with my own hands. :O

And if there's bad to be done, someone's going to be there to do that, too. ;p

Basically like Murphy's law - What can go wrong will go wrong.

That had come to mind, but I wanted it to be neutral and all-encompassing instead of pessimistic.

I agree with Raijin -- I don't know if it's humanity so much as just the way the universe works.

And I thought I was a pessimist... You're making me feel guilty, here. ;/

I think it's closer to "Somebody has to do it, but I think someone ELSE can."

Yes. Like arguing over who's going to do things.

I think it would be more like "Somebody had to do it....". Some kind of omnipotent being probably thought "Hey let;s make life and see what they do"
