Imagine with me, if you will:

You are on Deal or No Deal. There are 2 cases left, yours and one still on the steps. One contains a penny, while the other contains the million dollars.

For unknown reasons, the ability to switch your case at the last moment has been denied you, so you're stuck. The Banker has offered you $500,000. This is what it boils down to:

Deal, and walk away with half a mil, with the opportunity to gain double that lost, or don't deal, and either strike it rich, or try to unload one cent.

So the question stands:
Deal... or no deal?

Tempting but 500,000 is much better then .01 with my luck thats what I would end up with.

I'd take the 500 grand and be done with it. I have atrocious luck, and I'd likely get the penny 1000 times in a row. Besides, 500,000 dollars is more than enough to pay for my college and leave plenty for savings deposits and investment.

I'd much rather play it safe then risk losing everything [well almost everything ]. Besides you can get a lot with half a million.

I'm with the others- take the half a million. Yeah, part of me would always wonder if I would have gotten the million. But knowing my atrocious luck, odds are I would end up with the penny. I'd rather have the amount guaranteed, even if it's half as much. After all, it's half of an awful lot.... I could do plenty with half a million, that's for darn sure.

Seems a lot of people have bad luck nowadays. Or maybe it's me.

I will take whatever I have. I came with nothing so I leave with something.

No deal. It simply goes against my nature to not forge on if I really have nothing to lose. So what if I don't win a million dollars? At least that wasn't the money owned by myself before the start of the game. As they say, in for a penny, in for a crap-load of money.

Deal. I'd rather have actual money than the possibility of more money.
