Alrighty...I picked orcs. Why you ask?

Because orc's awesome traits are also their shoddy traits.

Dwarves. Awesome because they're just plain cool and have hammers...shoddy because their honor often gets confused and compromised.

Elves. Awesome because of the drow. Shoddy because of every other leaf-eating, tree-hugging, pale-skinned, pseudo-spiritual elves that think wind chimes are musical instruments.

Men. Awesome because they're the most adaptable. Shoddy because they rarely do, and when the do adapt, they screw it up.

Halflings. They just suck...

Chuck Norris. Come on guys...he's a black belt...so's Jet Lee and Jackie Chan...get over it.

ORCS. Downside: They're not smart...they don't adapt...they eat eachother...they're barbaric, overzealous, cretins that do nothing but slice bodies open.

Upsides: They're not smart enough to question you...they do what they're told regardless of what it is...you don't need to get food for them...they're effective shock troops that slice up your enemies with no thought on how it effects the other side.

They don't look good...but they look awesome when they're in the field.

Actually I'd like to change my vote to none of the above; the Mid-Childans of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha get my vote.

Why?

Because they made Fate Testarossa, the world's most awesome nine-year-old. Let's see how much Chucky does when he's just a kid compared to going out and saving the world a few times the way Fate does.

And don't forget Bardiche; who wouldn't wet themselves when Fate points the Zamber form at them? That is one mother of a sword. :shock:

The only Testarossa I know of is the one from Full Metal Panic, who WAS totally awesome... and was a member of mankind.
And the world's most awesome nine year-old is OBVIOUSLY Negi Springfield. Saving the world? Yeah, whatever. Nobody uses such a cliche measure of awesomeness anymore.
Racking up a dozen hardcore crushes when you haven't even had puberty yet? AWESOME TO THE MAX.
