Be honest, and do not be influenced by recent movies.

Uhhh...
I'm stuck between ninja, samurai, and marine.
Ninjas beat people up and look cool about it.
Samurais have unmatched skills with a blade.
Master Chief is a Marine. 'Nuff said.
We'll call it a three-way tie until I make up my mind, okay?

Traditionally it is a battle between pirates and ninjas... but I felt like widening the choices.

Simply on the basis of my man Siegfried, I gotta go with knights.

I HAVE MADE MY DECISION!!!
Wow, that was fast.
Master Chief is my main man, it's the Marines all the way, buddy.

Spartans? Peh.
Besides, they fall into a different warrior class. Myrmidons, I believe. Like Achilles from Troy.
Samurai get my vote. Space Marines are cooler than Samurai, but they lose points for being in the same category as the Halo loser.

If we're talking about real-life stuff, I'd go with real witches. If anything-goes, including fiction, I would have to say a nature spirit or goddess.

"Real" witches? You mean the dark-age people who touted Satanic rituals before Satanism went "official," or those Wiccan saps?

Neither of those. You could probably call them Wiccans, but I've grown up with a different definition for witches, instead of Pagans or Wiccans calling themselves such. Makes no sense, to me, to say that you're a Pagan witch or a Wiccan one. A witch is a witch. The Dark Age variety, that you mentioned, is a joke; that was mostly an anti-Christian movement, if I remember correctly.

Yarg, RUM! *cheers*
Pirates on account that my friends and I have come up with more inside jokes about them than the rest of anything combined.
