I don't think there's anything wrong with being schooled, but I do think that much of how it's done could be done better, especially in certain areas. I dropped out as soon as I was legal because I was one of those unfortunate people who didn't like school because a lot of non-school things in school would have made me even dumber if I stayed and dealt with them. Talk about ironic or something like that. Of course, it wasn't until high school where I decided that I had had enough, because I wasn't able to learn at my own pace like I had been able to in junior high. Yeah, by "my own pace", I mean that I was grades ahead in several subjects (but not all). So, you know... I got tired of doing a few subjects over again and having to do things like they tell me even though doing it my own way worked better for me. "Show me your work." Blah, blah, blah... Another failing grade for doing it in my head. And despite all of the zeros that I had gotten for not doing any homework, participating in group stuff and not doing one of those "major grade" things (pinpoint presentation or something like that), I had still managed to pass English because everything I did in class got an A. Well, pretty much everything... I managed to get a B by taking a test on a book that I hadn't read. <.<; (The teacher had only read a few chapters and had the class read the rest.)

In the end, I've found that learning when I want to learn, and being able to choose what I want to learn, is much better than being dragged through school. The pursuit of knowledge and social issues simply don't mix well.

I personally can't WAIT to return to school/Tech this Friday. Lots of people I haven't seen all summer, and getting back to my schedule of earning mah degree of Engineering Biomedical-ness.

School...

It is my happy place where I am can be free of my parents for a few hours and hang out with my friends. It helps that I quit the band.
