Name: Jemma
Age: 13
Height: 4'3
Hair color: Emerald green
Eye color: Amethyst
Skin tone: Golden topaz brown
Race: Human/Magic
Born: August 1st

Bio: Jemma was born several thousand years ago. While Jemma was only a few
months past conception her magic manifested almost killing herself and her Mother in the
process. So her parents began regularly exposing their yet unborn daughter to a spell designed for the
sole purpose of locking away her magical abilities. They left one hole in this wall they constructed
inside her. They allowed her a defensive reflex. Should she ever be scared or in danger she would
instinctively call on the elements to save her. Rock walls to seperate her from a danger for instance.
Even after Jemma was born they continued reinforcing the wall they had constructed.

They raised her well. Wanting only her safety and well being. However whatever they may have
wished for her things did not stay idyllic for long. While out for a picnic in the forest near their home, Jemma was frightened when a woodsman came upon them. Her defensive reflex kicked in and raised a wall of stone around her. The woodsman was startled by what he saw, and ran back to his village to tell everyone. He had good reason to be surprised, as in the local Kingdom of Tirin only the royal family were allowed to learn magic. The ascnension to the throne was decided not by order of birth or even direct bloodline, but by who posessed the most powerful magic. When the Kingdom learned of Jemma it was assumed her parents were openly disobeying that law. Or worse, attempting to raise a usurper to the throne. So the sent out soldiers to kill her and her parents. Her parents escaped, but knew it was only a matter of time til they were caught. So instead they turned to the Goddess of Mercy. The goddess granted their request. She aided them in placing
Jemma in a state of unlife. Suspended in time inside a large crystal, while the rest of the world moved
forwards without her. Til the time came when the Goddess enlisted a certain ninja trained explorer
who owed her a favor to find and free Jemma.

Phoebe was given the position of being the girl's temporary Guardian til such time as it could be
confirmed that Jemma was safe. Phoebe, knowing nothing about taking care of children, took her to
MSF. She entrusted Jemma to the generally harmless chaos that encircles MSF while she dove into
the girl's history. Jemma, whose vocabulary was woefully insufficient, had trouble interacting with
others. But her cheeriness seemed to prompt others to look out for her.Jemma meanwhile
was awed by the new and exciting world around her. She took great joy from watching the people
and things that made MSF their home. Nobody interested her more then the Void Child Corvus,
who Jemma would come to know as Raven.

Corvus took the girl into his home and took care of her in Phoebe's absence. Corvus, who was often
viewed as anything from a thief to a destroyer of worlds by those around him, was surprisingly kind to
little Jemma. So, when the Goddess' fears were realized and she was kidnapped, Corvus went with
Phoebe and Kumi to get her back.

The Royal Advisor to the Kingdom of Tirin was behind the kidnapping.
Intending to steal Jemmas magic for himself, he had gone to extreme lengths to harness her potential. Imprisoning her in a crystal like the one her parents had placed her in to protect her.
Corvus and Kumi kept him focused on fighting them so Phoebe could free Jemma.

A problem arose at that time. Leaving a hole in a wall leaves a weakspot. Time and the Advisor's
attempt to steal her magic had weakened the wall further, until it began to break down. As the unconcious
Jemma slipped from the crystal the Advisor had held her in, a spell was cast by the young girl.
Not a defense spell like she had used before. Rather a powerful Dark attack spell, resulting
in the death of the Advisor.

Jemma was saved, however there was a new problem. The wall her parents had so carefully
was slowly but surely breaking down. Jemma was soon to be at risk of an uncontrolled release
of magic. The only way of avoiding this, was to have Jemma take control of her own magical
potential. With Corvus' money Phoebe enrolled Jemma in classes with the best tutors she could find.
English to remedy her vocabulary, math to give her something resembling a normal education. That
was where her education ceased to be normal.

She studies Ancient Arcane Languages, the original language of magic. Fire Magic, Water Magic,
Earth Magic, Wind Magic, Light Magic and Shadow Magic. The elements she had already used
reflexively. Though it would not normally be taught to a child, she was further enrolled in sudying
Arcane Magic. In addition to her official studies she is frequently seen reading from a book about
Demons given to her by Corvus, a book of fairy tales given to her by Phoebe, and a battered old tome
written in ancient arcane language whose subject is so far known only to Jemma and the friend of
Phoebe's that gave Jemma the book.

Biological Information:
Jemma's heart, lungs, brain, nervous system, and all other essential systems are heavily integrated with
magic. It is quite accurate to say that Jemma IS, partially at least, magic. Saying Jemma is magic
is the same as saying she is human. Both are the truth. Magic is who and what she is.

Because of this unique condition Jemma, it has been discovered, has a 100% aptitude for magic. Which
should be physically impossible. The effect of this is that Jemma has the potential to learn and excel in
essentially any field of magic she is put towards learning. While she is just a child now, by the time
she becomes an adult she has the potential to be the greatest sorceress the world has ever
known.

Defensive magic:
These spells have neither names no focus words, as Jemma does not perform them on her own.
They are a reflex, and as such she is currently unable to cast them manually. It is worth noting
that as her skills in magic improve and she gains more control, the defensive reflex becomes less and less
reliable. Eventually she will no longer have a defense reflex at all.
