I thought that was just called Paint. And nope, never used it. Well, not to make avatars, anyway. I can add text, re-size, erase- simple stuff. And it's never taken a while to do so. What is it you're trying to do?

So I'm looking for a girl, that looks a bit less depressed, maybe still a bit Lain-like, if that says something to you. I would prefer all brown and/or reddish haircolours. But more important is, that she still looks thoughtfull ^^"

Nothing special, I was just working on a new avatar pic last night and thought I'd pop in here and see if anyone had any advice.

Hmm.... I think time consuming is all there is when you're working with paint. Though, I've found it helps to make a 16 color copy of the original work before I start with most things. From there it's easier. Jpegs often make every pixel a different color, rendering several of paints better features useless. With less different colors it becomes possible to shave off some time using the paint bucket or the color replacement erasor. If you want to recover old color data you can just use the dropper to get skin tones and the like back from the original photo.

Then again, I don't do all that much work, (This ava is one of the few pics I've changed) so I'm not really an expert. And paint is a microsoft program, and therefore generally obnoxious.

Well... THAT picture was awfully short-lived. Wonder what happened...
Can anyone find me a good Adell picture? Preferably one that looks like it was done in paint, with minimum detail, though I'll take what I can get. Anything's better than an X inside a box inside a bigger box.

Rowan, use Irfanview. It's a free image viewer that lets you resize and resample any image. It's what I use for all of my avatars.

I was sorta wondering if anyone could make me a full-body version of my avvie. She looks like this:



She's got Uzis and a mini-tank gun in addition to the sword. The tank gun is on a strap around her back, the sword goes in a sheath also on her back (she's right-handed, by the way, if it helps), and I want her holding one of the Uzis up and the other at the camera (or whoever's lookinga at it, whatever) and smiling slightly, if you wouldn't mind. Thank you.
