Well, I guess I'll revamp the whole shpiel for everyone.
Nylena is a girl(sometimes) and a dragon(also sometimes) The image to the left is the ideal image of both forms(more or less). She is a physical transformation nut(all books/manga in her personal library have some element of it to them) and a fan of B-movie icon Bruce Campbell.
There it is, quick and easy.

After the adventures of the first book where he's back in his own body(still stuck in the past with his fiance, now wife)he learns that as a side effect of his first adventure into the world he gained the natural ability to shift into dragon form.
