Days like this make me wish I had special abilities

So... it seems as if my great aunt has passed away. My mom went to get her to take her to her doctor's appointment, but found her on the floor.

It's things like this that make me wish I wasn't so helpless and could actually do things that mattered.

I am sorry to hear about your lost Konoko. That is unfortunate to hear.

Try not to beat yourself up about it too much. Everything will be okay.

I know, but I still hate it, and I think I'm starting to really dislike around Christmas time. It was around this time a few years back our puppy died, and just a couple days ago we learned my grandma's cancer in her hip is trying to spread again, and she has two spots on her lung.

Having lost my grandma and several friends of the family the past four and a half years, I can sympathize. I'm sorry for your loss.

I am sorry for you loss. The holidays can be a joyous time for some, and for others who have experienced loss of family members, especially around the holidays, it can be rough. My church set up some sort of Griefshare program/support group to help those who have experienced loss. My church also has small group/Bible study/Life Group that meet on the 1st and 3rd Sunday evenings (excluding holidays) with different themes, but usually has a potluck dinner included. Perhaps your place of worship has a similar program?

It's weird to know that somebody is gone.

Not really sure, since I've never gone to church, and the only time I've ever visited one was many years or go when an uncle got married.

... and my grandma went to the hospital last night, since she hasn't really been in good shape lately. Been sick, been in pain due to a sore on her leg, etc.

I got a call earlier from the hospital about how she wasn't breathing well, but a doctor arrived. I called my uncle to get a hold of my mom about it.

Then a moment ago, I get a call from my mom telling me that my grandma isn't doing too good, and she's being taken to the ICU.

God... I hope they can help her...

Edit: God that's great news. My grandma's insulin/blood sugar levels are back down to normal, and the doctors took a look at her sore and figured out that it's not what they first thought it was. So they'll keep giving her antibiotics and fluid, and the goal is to get her well enough to come home.

At least that was last night.

It appears as if she really isn't doing much better, and they don't think she will get any better, and there's talk of sending her to a hospice.

God damn it... and why does the weather have to reflect this as well? Yesterday was cold, dreary, and rainy. Today is cold, dreary, and windy...

Well... my grandma passed away earlier tonight. It was on the way to the hospice. Apparently her last words were 'I'm ready to go home' as she raised her arms.

I went to see her just now. She looked beautiful and at peace, no pain at all...

Aww. That sucks to hear.

At least she died happy.

Come here for a hug. *hug*
