Ouch. Very sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can get another job, soon.

Where were you working? If it was a government-sponsored job like police or fire department, I can't say I'm surprised. People where I live are getting laid off left and right.
Even if it's not government-sponsored, I wouldn't rule that out.
But I hope you can find a replacement job soon, and when you do, work hard to show those laying-off jerks a thing or two about firing you!

I am still unemployed and living off my Social security Stipend until I get re-employed. i am starting to work towards getting my Masters Degree in Social Sciences degree. I worked for Staples for 4 years before they laid me off for messing up on the cash register (my till came up either ten dollars short or over, and had to be wrote up as per company policy). Too many write-ups cost me my job, my self-esteem, and my self-worth. I got depressed, and moped around, while being lectured by my mother and her new husband (my biological dad and mom divorced when I was 9), about stop throwing a pity party, and start looking for work....
I am so upset that I was offered a part-time job at this local custom t-shirt/embroidery store by a friend of mine from my church, and when I went to the store for my interview/job yesterday, the store was closed, and the guy was not back from vacation. I hope he is back from vacation (the store is now open) and I can talk to him in person Thursday afternoon about working for him. If not, then I will have to start over (again).
I'm tired of being told about new job offers, and being "stood up" or not being informed about any changes.
I have Asperger's Syndrome, and I am not a patient person.
