It seems that this is my only capacity these days. Bring up a topic so I can blather on about it in a meaningless away. I dare you.
Oh, you were so dared. Daringly. Yes, I do so dare to be so daring.
Yes.

There was this one game that was a spin-off of a highly-acclaimed movie, and it was so bad that what remained of them were buried in a landfill. E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial, I believe it was called. It's commonly considered one of the worst games of all time, if not the worst. And it's often blamed for being the game that tipped the Atari into marketable oblivion.
But the trend continues, and we still get bad games based on movies, only now the standard they're well below is much higher than what existed at the time of the Atari. That's the only reason why I think they can still get away with it, since there are still plenty of children and suckers that can't tell that, with the technology and advancements involved in today's video games, they shouldn't be considered to be acceptable for anyone's consumption.
I blame everyone for taking a part in this blasphemy.

While I've certainly heard of ET, thankfully it was before my time.
The big problem with movie games is that they're rushed to be near simultaneous release with said movie. That and the fact that people who truly love video games want to make their own, not work for some lame movie adaptation, so you only get second rate talent on those titles.
But how care you go and blame eeeeveryone? I could be wrong but I don't think I own any video games based off of movies (I own something like 60 games). I'm innocent, I tell ye, innocent!
The most interesting thing to me in all of videogames is NES music.
Man, the things you can do with a square, triangle, sine and noise wave!

You're not innocent because you, like everyone else, have allowed it to happen.

As for NES music... Triumphant soundz, ho-oooo!
Hai-ya!Hoo-wa!Orya-aa!

Playing Crystalis has been on my to-do list for like 19 years now, I tried to find a cartridge of it for a long time but couldn't.
People say it can compete with original LoZ... but I dunno, LoZ is definitely one of the best games evar.

It would probably depend on your priorities. If finding secrets, solving dungeons and attaining hearts is your thing, then Zelda would be best for you. Crystalis, in my opinion, is likened to Zelda, except with a wider variety of attacks, more established shopping, and a bit more diversity on the effectiveness of attack and defense. And with level-gaining, and HP and MP, more RPG-like. The story, too, is more developed.
Soul Blazer is a decent equivalent to Crystalis, for the SNES.

*Dies of boredom*
Okay, not really, but I felt it would be wrong to stop posting in this thread 'til I said it.
I do like videogames, but I'm just not a spammasta'

I TRIUMPH AGAIN! U_UI'll have to remember to put LoZ in an inferior light to get this result.

You couldn't bore me to death if you wanted to. I'm in a state of permanent not-caring-about-anything.

How about the topic of apathy?
And Crystalis was a fun game. I've still got the cartridge for that, and 2 NES's. :3

In those cases...
*I run a drill through you both*
There. Bored to death. ;p
Seriously, though. I enjoyed Crystalis more than Zelda. Faxanadu wasn't too bad, either. And River City Ransom was a hoot to play with others. So was Bubble Bobble.
