Criticisms

Hmm... Apparently someone I consider a friend spent 10 solid minutes talking about me behind my back so I would lose an election for a position I, thankfully, didn't care about. In addition to telling me that I should not consider certain people friends, the event has made me curious. Rather, it has imbued me with a desire to see what the worst people think of me is. That is to say., the harshest, behaviorally founded criticisms, anyone has of my conduct in any forum. I understand that the view reflected would not be a balanced one, nor would it be a positive one, and that most of you, hopefully, have more positive things to say about me as well.

I don't want the positive, lay the negative on me. If anyone wishes, I'd be glad to return the favor.

I don't care enough about you to feel the need to criticize you in any way. Is that negative enough? Well, it's not like I know you all that well, anyway. Shame on you for not going out on a limb to become my friend. You should know better. Any decent person would reach out and get to know someone. And this is about you, so never you mind my hypocrisy.

Oh, I am on fire.

I would say something negative, but in spite of the fact that I've been hanging around for a few years, I don't know you well enough for that. About the only things I do know about you is that you live in Florida and have been to college, and that's hardly a basis for criticism.

Florida?! Florida?!!?!?! That's enough for me to hate you!

Just kidding. But, anyways, I haven't really been here long enough to really know much about you, so there's nothing I can really say, except that I've been in situations similar to yours, except my whole 8th grade year was like that. Joined the football team, everyone liked me. Football season ended, people turned on me so fast, my head was spinning...

And some people still wonder why I didn't play football in high school. >.>

In the end, the chances of finding a friend that's completely loyal and trustworthy, in America, is pretty slim. You'd be lucky to find someone who doesn't raise such superficial interests above your own, especially in the business (including employment) and political scenes. Either way, people tend to care about their own skin first, so... Unless they outright slandered, instead of simply making their own case against you, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I have attempted to find some philosophical, or sophisticated way to joke you into a better mood, but unfortunately all I have to say is...

If they talk behind your back, Stab them in theirs...literally.

...Don't even kid about that.

On the subject of criticism, I've never tried to find out what other people think of me, online or otherwise; I generally don't care all that much. If you think of any criticism to hand me though, I'd like to hear it.

I've heard it ventured more toward the slander than the latter. But, it wasn't the event itself, merely the implications of the event that prompted the question. Rather than a search for vindication this is a quest for insight.

Hmm... *Ponders.*

You're too much of a glutton, always eating things around Muffinville. Seriously though, I begin to see the problems of asking this kind of survey amidst this kind of community.

Well, I'm glad that I tried for insight instead of vindication, then. What little good it did, I suppose. But the simplest insight is: that's life. People tend to have many faces, and reserve their real face only for the things that actually matter to them. What you do when you find out what someone is really like, when they're not around you, is something you'll have to figure out yourself. But, what I consider to be a rule of thumb, is to abandon someone who acts nice to your face if they only do that to suit their own purpose(s) (i.e. to use/take advantage of you for some selfish/self-gratifying reason). After all, if all you are is fodder to them, why bother with it?

Seriously though, I begin to see the problems of asking this kind of survey amidst this kind of community.

What problems? ;p

Can't say I have problems with you. Granted, I don't really know you all that well and haven't met you in person, so I can't say much. I can, however, say I don't pay much attention to the bad stuff about people (or try not to, at least) so I'm probably not the best one to discuss this with.

So... carry on. :)

Actually, Shadell, I am a bit of a glutton outside the forums. Crohn's Disease is the only thing keeping me from fully indulging in this pasttime. :|

Hmm.

I dun know you terribly well OOC Shadell--and the impressions that I have of you are by and large positive ones--but after considering it for a bit, here's what I have come up with as far as negatives:

~ The character that you choose to play as your general avatar for MSF is rather unpleasant--which in itself is fine; I enjoy it OOCly myself--but I think that on occasion your IC actions can, and maybe have been found unpleasant by others OOC. Whether this is just them being too touchy, I will not be the one to judge, but there it is.

~ I have seen you start off on various interesting things, and then let them die. Mind you, I understand how college is more important then RPs and such, but it was disappointing, nevertheless.

~ You debate semantics, a lot. I don't usually mind, but it can lead to nerve-grinding arguments now and again.

I would be interested in hearing my own negatives as well, of course. ^^

Ooh. Can I be criticized, next?! If someone would please do so...I'd appreciate it.
