Are more protections being considered, yet? What we already have must be well behind the pioneering spamsters, by now.

Also: I've been getting an "internal server error" off and on all day. What's up with that? O.o

Editing is still a bit iffy for me, too.

It's not the editing. ;p I get a white page that says "internal" server error" every now and again, no matter what I do.

And I see a bunch more spam. Like, halp? I totally can't come up with creative notices with so many. X_X

alot of the spam is now in the form of guest posting.

I'm banning IPs and IP blocks left and right, and I've disabled guest posting in parts of the forums. I'll keep watching the trend of spam posts and react accordingly.

Is the site (as it is now working in some fashion) drawing their attention? I was wondering since it'd be an odd coincidence otherwise, considering the timing.

But, yeah, it's been pretty bad during the last couple of days. Like three or four dozen posts or so, as far as I personally saw.

I'm not sure really. We did get a spam account within minutes of setting up the new site, which was funny. Mostly I just think its a new spam program out. You know "everyone's doing it"

the Anti-Spam people will eventually find a way to mostly neutralize it, and we'll be back down to not as much spam until the next big thing comes along
