Cat's into the bag

Postby Mitera Nikkou » Fri Jan 16, 2009 7:19 pm

Well, it seems like our cats are dropping like flies, lately, for some odd reason. We've had all but one for years, and then, suddenly, it's as if some domino effect started. You might recall one cat that died recently, right? Well, a few weeks ago, one went outside (all of our cats, except for the new kitten, go in and out all of the time) and never returned. Since this area is more wood, crops and pasture than anything else, and I can't imagine the few people in the area taking him in, I'm assuming he's dead. Now one isn't eating, and we can't afford a visit to a vet to find out why (at the high chance that we won't be able to do anything about it, anyway), so he's probably going to die before too long.

So that's three out of the four cats that we've had for five-plus years suddenly dying within a few months. Woooo~

Have you checked for vengeful Inu spirits lately? oO

sounds bizarre, like you live in the Bermuda Triangle for cats. They didn't really have a hard life, did they?

I too am suffering a depreciation in cats.. why in the last year I've lost two.

I blame Sea Kittens. Just read story three they are killing our cats. We must eat all Fish its the only way.

Xia:

Even though we're poor, with the exception of the kitten the youngest lived for five or so years, so... They got to go in and out of the house as they pleased, got up on the counters, and pretty much had the run of the house. And we're always giving them people food. XD

But, while the general causes of death are probably avoidable, we don't have the money for it. Especially at this time of the year, when we're already falling into debt and have to rely on the income tax return to bail us out. Again. So it seems to be a mixture of bad timing and bad luck.

Zoei:

Yeah, because of sea kittens people are eating land fish. :O

Long time ago our family cat got some weird desease where he stopped eating. Unfortantly I can't remember what the problem was as It was litterly over a decade ago. (God am I really THAT old now?) But we had to pretty much take cat food, soak it in water so it was mush, and but it in one of those baster things? The thing that is a tube that sucks up and spits out water? We stuffed the food in there and pretty much force fed him till he got better.

It seem a bit curel, but it's for their own good. Another thing that happened in my past, was we had one kitten that would'nt eat anything either. We tried to find something they'd intake, and for whatever reason, they seem to eat mayonase.

I don't know how much help this will be, but I'd rather pass on some information that could help, then just keep quiet.

Thanks, Garath. We pawned some stuff and bought some liquid vitamin supplements and stuff, so we're forcing him to take that. My guess is he's just depressed or something, since my mother has been keeping the cats in the house lately, due to the cold. Over the years she's become more protective over them, even though they've always been fine with their environment and habits. She's becoming a neurotic and tries to blame gluten, even though the cats have probably eaten food with gluten in it for years with no problem.
