Somewhat Special Event: The Extras Talk Back!

[Ookalf]

Don't worry, I'll be good! *Sassafras giggles while walking away.* So, what next...? *After one more look at the guest list, she eventually decides to go see Sabrina. She did make that promise to Jennifer...*

[AmbushCat]

*When she approaches, Sabrina looks to have just gotten done speaking to a visitor. After she waves good-bye to him, she pulls out a science textbook and starts skimming it. She doesn't seem to have noticed Sassafras yet.*

[Ookalf]

*Sassafras waits a moment for Sabrina to notice her. If that doesn't happen, she'll clear her throat to get her attention.* Hey, Sabrina. I know we see each other at the manor a lot, but I thought I'd stop by and see what you're up to here!

[AmbushCat]

...Oh! Sassafras, I didn't hear you approach! *quickly puts the book away, looking shame-faced* I'm sorry, I'm sorry!

[Ookalf]

Please, don't worry about it! I know it's easy to get sucked into a thing... So, what's going on with you?

[AmbushCat]

Well, I've been giving some thought to taking online college courses and finally getting my degree. *gestures at the book she was reading* In preparation, I've been looking at this whenever I get a minute. *blushes* Though I'm willing to admit it gets distracting real quick.

[Ookalf]

Oh, cool! ...I mean, that is good, right? I don't really know anything about college and stuff, but that all sounds exciting! Is it?

[AmbushCat]

It is if you like to learn. Though looking at you, you're more of a 'lyrical' type, so if I went on about how great school is I'd probably bore you asleep. Happened to Drew more than once...

[Ookalf]

Heh, yeah, you might be right. *Sassafras chuckles sheepishly.* I guess I'll just stick to my own things... But hey, that reminds me! I saw Jenny earlier, and she said to tell you and Drew she sends her best!

[AmbushCat]

*eyes widen* Jenny says hi?! *joyful smile* I was afraid she'd forgotten us years ago! It's wonderful to hear that she's alright!

[Ookalf]

Oh, yeah! She's right over, uh, that-way-ish. *Sassafras gestures vaguely toward where she met Jennifer.* So, are you guys all friends?

[AmbushCat]

*beaming happily* 'Friends' nothing, she was our former owner! ... Mine and Drew's, I mean.

[Ookalf]

Your owner? ...Oh, did you guys used to be cats too? I forget if I knew that...

[AmbushCat]

In all fairness, it has been a while since we joined, and it's not like everyone's expected to know the origins of everyone in the Manor. But yeah, Drew and I used to be cats.

*Sabrina takes out her wallet and pulls out an old photograph; the timestamp on it indicates that it's from 2001. One of the cats in the photo is calico-patterned, with the colors diluted; she's more of a cream and dark gray as opposed to orange and black. Also, she's rather... small for a housecat; the white and orange long-hair seated nearby outmasses her by half. Sort of like how Sabrina is only about four feet tall, come to think of it...*

That's us; I'm the calico. *gets a bit teary-eyed* Seeing this reminder of days gone by gets me a little nostalgic... but nothing can really be done about it now. We weren't young, per se, but we were still in our prime at that point.

[Ookalf]

*Sassafras looks at the picture and nods.* Oh, yeah, that totally is you! It sounds like you really liked living with her, huh?
