Circe's Manor Raids Again

And as she pressed thought, she finds her way to level 2! Able to purchase some upgrades with the points she collected before the start of the level. But given the time to think over her options, a slight doubt started to grow in her mind. Will she be able to beat the final boss like this? Will she even be able to reach that level playing this way? What would happen if she ran out of lives? It will have to be all or nothing now, one last try to beat the game!

Danaye just kept with the silent supporting, not to draw too much attention to herself and let Penny focus on her game.

[Ookalf]

Don't think about it, don't think about it... *The maid uses her upgrades to boost her gun's firepower as high as she can before continuing to the next level.*

*And so the game goes on, until eventually Penny wins with a score of 5-3! The other maid sighs in defeat.*

As expected the next level was harder than the previous one, but nothing she wasn't used to already. She already played this game enough to know enough about the stage and patterns of this level.


When the match was done Danaye went to congratulate Penny. "Nice game! You're pretty good at this."

[Ookalf]

OK, not too bad so far... *Of course, the second stage never was that bad. It was always stage five where she got stuck, she recalls...*

Oh, it wasn't that big a deal... Anyway, what about you? You manage to have any fun yet?

[xGoggles]

Though maybe in her confidence she became a bit too reckless and suddenly was hit by an enemy! That didn't feel very good...


"Umm, kinda? This place is pretty weird though... Also a ton of games I have never seen before. B-but umm.. do you feel like maybe playing one together?", Danaye asks a bit shyly.

[Ookalf]

Aah! *The maid blasts away the enemy that got her, then inspects the area it hit.* I hope health items and 1ups still work...

Sure, why not? *Penny shrugs.* What did you feel like playing?

[xGoggles]

Lucky she still had a lot of health left, just bothersome that she couldn't go on a perfect run until stage five. She really needs to save up all her resources for that final boss battle! She really has to be careful now; the more used now the harder it'll get later. Good thing it was almost level 3!



Danaye looks around for a second, looking for what they could play together. She spots a Dance Dance Revolution machine and started blushing, shaking her head. She wasn't confident in her new body yet to start dancing on such a thing. "Umm.. Maybe... Actually, I played air hockey only once, can we maybe play this? Can you teach me some of your skills, heheh?" ^^'

[Ookalf]

Gotta keep focus... *The maid continues to press on, moving slower and more carefully now.*

Well, we can play, but I'm not sure there's really much I can teach you... *Penny goes ahead and gets the table ready.*

[xGoggles]

The maid getting close to reaching the end of level two, just a few more minions! But wait? What is that? That one special annoying and fast minion she usually ignores because it doesn't deal any damage and just annoying flies around the screen for a while before it disappears. Normally it was rather hard to actually shoot it down, but maybe now, more up-close with better aim, she might be able to take that one down for once!



"Umm, okay", Dan takes her position too, trying to mimic the way Penny was standing and holding the striker. "Okay, I think I'm ready~"

[Ookalf]

We'll give this a try... *The maid takes careful aim and fires on that annoying flier.*

Let's go then. *Penny kicks off the game by hitting the puck toward Danaye.*

[xGoggles]

She starts to foot it, but it was still hard to aim at something that actively tried to dodge her shots. It was about the leave the map again but, she finally got it this time!
Oh, what is this?? Secret bonus stage unlocked? A portal opened at the spot of the slain minion, with the title 'Bonus Stage' above it. She could either continue on with the level or try to jump into the portal and do the mysterious bonus stage.


Danaye moves her striker side to side very close to her goal, making sure the puck didn't go near it, but she wasn't actively aiming to hit the puck back in a way that would score a point either.

[Ookalf]

A bonus? ...I'll take it! *The maid leaps through the portal! If it was hidden like that it must be good, right?*

*The puck bounces off Danaye's striker leisurely drifts back toward Penny, who easily returns it.* You're gonna have to put in a bit more effort than that, ya know.

[xGoggles]

Inside the bonus stage, there were a ton of these dodgy minions just swarming around the map. At the top of the screen, the text said, 'Take down as many as you can before the timer is up' And underneath that was a timer set to 20 seconds counting down!


The genie nods and tries to hit the puck back harder every time it came close by, opening up her defenses a little, but her aim was still pretty off.

[Ookalf]

Ah, that kind of bonus... *The maid starts firing at all the enemies, hoping to get a decent prize for blasting a lot.*

That's better. Now you just need to work on aiming! *Penny hits the puck back again, right toward Danaye's goal!*

[xGoggles]

And as she kept on firing and shot a few down, they appeared to drop a lot of golden coins across the map she had to pick up, but there were only 10 seconds left!


Danaye thought she was fast enough to hit the puck back, but in her movement, the puck just barely passed her striker and went straight into the goal!
