Infestation: Revenge of the Ovalisk

The crowd collectively gasp and quietly mutter among themselves... but ultimately smile.

"Its alright! We're just learning who we are too!"

"Most of us are new to the world, many having just left the nursery~!"

Missy: *looks back at the arcade for a moment* And it looks like you were enjoying yourselves, too.

[Feng]

"I'm taking you on a short trip, Dactylos~!" says Paola with a smile. "Relax.... You are in no danger here"

If Dact were to look around he would find himself sitting in the middle of a vast desert beneath a gentle full moon. A light wind whips up clouds of sand that dance and swirl about. All about Dact could see strange rock formations reaching high into the sky, upon which hung alien stars.

A low hum echoes in the air.... It sounds.... almost like a didgeridoo?

"Welcome, Dactylos, to the Dream."

"Human games are the best" giggles a girl in a sailor fuku. "And what's great is that Dorothy..." She motioned to a girl in a Creeper hoody, "knows how to rig the machines so we don't need quarters~!" ^^

The girl in the chef's outfit (Akane) suddenly appears with a heaping bowl of brown rice, terriyaki chicken, orange chicken, and stir fried vegetables.

"Do you like chopsticks Missy, or do you prefer a fork?" asks the chef.

Dact indeed glances around! Frowning... "I'm not appreciative of being taken for a ride..."

"Human games are the best" giggles a girl in a sailor fuku. "And what's great is that Dorothy..." She motioned to a girl in a Creeper hoody, "knows how to rig the machines so we don't need quarters~!" ^^

Missy: *smiles at the fuku-clad girl, then addresses Akane* Thank you. I'll have a fork, please.

"Walking the Dream can always be disorienting to non-Chibi" agrees Paola, floating near Dact, giggling. "This is a sacred place, you know. A collective dream shared by the entire Chibi population. Although warfare has broken out between the tribes in the waking world, strife is expressly forbidden here. My patron sees to that the peace is observed."

She gently takes Dact by the hand.

"Come! Walk with me, Mr. Dact!"

Akane hands Missy a fork. "Enjoy, friend~!" she coos. Many of the Ovalisks appear to have chosen chopsticks. The majority of these, Missy might observe, are dressed in some sort of ninja getup. The others, those in more casual attire, seem to prefer the knife and fork.

The girl in the fuku hands Missy a plate. "My sisters in the gi, they came from the Northern School!"

"We're like ninja spies~!" giggles one of the gi-clad girls with a conspiring giggle.

Dact looks about... and to the floating girl. "Great..." He murmurs. "Alright... fine, lead on..."

[Feng]

The girl smiles and gently leads Dact through the desert landscape. Judging by the faint light on the horizon, the pair appear to be heading East. Far ahead the knight could see the faint outline of triangular structures poking out from the dunes. Buildings, perhaps?

The strange humming begins to grow louder as up ahead the sun slowly begins to peek its head out.

"Dawn" observed the Ovalisk with a smile.

"I see..." He looks about... still wondering what the strange little girl was getting at with all this...

*Missy smiles and nods appreciatively, starting on her meal. If the look on her face is any indication, she's enjoying it immensely.*

Missy: *swallows* Ninja spies, huh? That's pretty cool.

The 'ninja' nod in their best 'sewious' manner.

"Yeah! Yeah! We're actually on a secret mission, too" one blurts out but is immediately shushed by her partner.

"Shush, silly! She may be friendly, but what if she is a spy from the mean Tall Ones?" ._____.

The sunrise illuminates the desert landscape, its radiant embrace revealing many secrets. Far ahead Dact can discern that the strange buildings are in fact pyramids constructed in a manner similar to those of Mesoamerica. Far above strange... "birds" circle overhead, the sunlight reflecting on their metallic rectangle forms.

And down at his feet Dact sees ants marching in single file, carrying rocks nearly ten times their size.

"Not much farther" the Ovalisk encourages pointing out ahead... towards a vast ocean.

The 'ninja' nod in their best 'sewious' manner.

"Yeah! Yeah! We're actually on a secret mission, too" one blurts out but is immediately shushed by her partner.

"Shush, silly! She may be friendly, but what if she is a spy from the mean Tall Ones?" ._____.

Missy: *swallows again* Mean Tall Ones? Could you describe them for me?

Dact follows along... looking about the strange vistas... "Chibis... why do they have to be so strange..."

[Feng]

"There are those meanies camped outside our colony" says the girl in the sailor fuku. "The police men? They like to keep sending people in after us."

"Oooh! Don't forget those Chibi on the roof!" comments a girl in a Chewbacca hoodie.

"Oh yeah! You don't suppose they're mad cause we took over their school, do you?"

"There are a lot of scary folk out there" observed a girl in glasses. "Fortunately, we are all safe and secure in our little nest~!" ^^

Paola smiles.

"That's a good question~! I've been living with them for years, and I still don't understand everything about them. Their friends, however, are wonderful company. Well, some of them anyways."

The pair reach the shoreline of the ocean. As they near the water, a massive Ziggurat emerges from the still waters, creating a massive wave. Paola ducks behind Dact for cover as a wall of sweet smelling water splashes him in the face.

Missy: *finishes her meal* Mmm, that was tasty. Well, I can't claim to understand how the Chibi think, and I'm no real angel myself... though I can kind of understand why those police people are miffed, since this building used to be a popular place for the Tall Ones.

Dact flinches... raising his arms defensively as the water passes. Wiping his face off afterwards, he looks over the structure that had arisen. "We're heading there...?"
