Infestation: Revenge of the Ovalisk

[Feng]

The Ovalisk gives Dactylos another raspberry for his trouble then snickers.

"You were very frightened in the tunnels," she teases. "Were ya afraid I was gonna zap ya? Make you my new sister?" ^^

She leads Dactylos out of the nursery into the Red Sector. He would observe various Ovalisks at work maintaining what appeared to be a base camp.

"As you can see we have the beginnings of a thriving colony," she says, pointing to various workers. "We're seeking to build a new home as our old one has gotten crowded."

She motions to an appliance store. "Follow me~!"

[Knight Errant]

"Err... well... I was afraid you were going to try..." He says, giving her a look before glancing about... great. What will McGruff say about all this?

The crowd of girls (plus boy) cheer and lead young Missy out to the food court. The young lady would notice a flurry of activity in the kitchens as tiny chefs are hard at work preparing vast quantities of food such as steamed rice, stir fry vegetables, and juicy meat!

"Our colony has the best Teriyaki Chicken" says a small child, leading Missy to a table, (huh, nobody even explained just what the heck they were). "Akane's cooking is the best."

Apparently the young girl with the cute black pigtails and pink scrubs was Akane.

Missy: *follows along and sits down at the table* Can't remember the last time I had teriyaki chicken. Have to warn ya: I can eat a lot.

[Feng]

"Err... well... I was afraid you were going to try..." He says, giving her a look before glancing about... great. What will McGruff say about all this?

The ninja smirks.

"The oracle will see you now~!" she says, motioning the knight into the appliance store. Oooof! The air is thick with the smell of incense!

Inside Dact sees several Ovalisks in various states of meditation. Some sit Indian style, humming various mantras both Zen Buddhist and those particular the Chibi faith. Others huddle around smoking braziers, arms outstretched. They focus intently on the smoke, on occasion causing various shapes to appear. Were they.... bending the smoke?

Further ahead a blonde haired girl in a white sundress sits in repose, staring intently at a toaster.

"Mistress Paola! I brought a visitor" coos the ninja.

Missy: *follows along and sits down at the table* Can't remember the last time I had teriyaki chicken. Have to warn ya: I can eat a lot.

Missy's new friends oooh in amazement.

"Really? How strange!"

"Most Ovalisks eat very little! I think its because we're, like, cold blooded?"

"Snaaaaaaaaaake~!" hissed a younger girl, her body wiggling.

Dact waits... standing at attention until he is recognized. Paola... had he heard that name before...?

[Feng]

The young lady smiles and rises.

"Ooooh! A Tall One? I received word we would be receiving visitors today."

She turns to the Knight.

"You must be Dactylos. I am Paola, leader of this colony," she says, offering Dact a hand.

He glances down at her hand... raising an eyebrow. But he does have a full gauntlet on... and so shakes it. "I am, and as an official Deputy of the Muffinville PD, I hope you have some explanations to give for all of this."

Missy's new friends oooh in amazement.

Missy: *eyebrow raises* In all fairness, I've never been considered normal. And... *slightly awed* "Ovalisks"? Wow.

[Feng]

Paola smiles and pats one of the beanbag chairs.

"Of course. Have a seat, Mr. Dactylos."

She turns to the ninjalisk. "I think Yumi needs you in the nursery. You know how excitable hatchlings are after their naps."

Then they head-tilt. "You didn't know? Aren't you one of us too?" O.o

He mmms... and slowly sits down in the beanbag chair. His spear crossed over his lap, as he makes sure his back is to the wall.

[Feng]

Paola pulls out a pouch of herbal powder, dumping the contents in a nearby brazier.

"Tell me, Mr. Dactylos, do you know much about Chibi?"

[AmbushCat]

Then they head-tilt. "You didn't know? Aren't you one of us too?" O.o

Missy: *shakes her head* No. I've heard of you, but I've never met one of you before in my life. *shrugs helplessly*

"I've dealt with a few of their mythological creatures. Some of their fighters. Some of their people. So... perhaps more than some. But theirs is a strange, secretive culture."

[Feng]

The crowd collectively gasp and quietly mutter among themselves... but ultimately smile.

"Its alright! We're just learning who we are too!"

"Most of us are new to the world, many having just left the nursery~!"

"Yes, they are very strange, especially to outsiders looking in."

She smiles and dumps a handful of crumpled plant into the flames. A strong powerful odor filled the small area.

"Try to relax, Dacty" says the girl, poking the flames. "This can be very disconcerting at first. If you relax, your journey will be smooth."
