The Taming of the Mew

Opal picks up a dress, and a few casual outfits ranging from the frilliest available to the most tomboyish, and then goes looking for a mirror with it all hanging off her arms in various ways.

*The mirror she wants is on the wall at the far end of the closet. Of course, it's full-length.*

*Outfit #1: Black shorts and an accompanying black T-shirt. The latter has a yellow outline of Vegeta on the front, along with the words "I AM THE HYPE"*

*Outfit #4: A white P.F.L. T-shirt with the league's logo on the front and silhouettes of the Swords of Justice on the back, plus a set of blue jeans.*

Opal holds up the various pieces of outfits between herself and the mirror before eventually stopping at the shorts from #2 with the top from #3. In a brief whirlwind the clothes she's been wearing up till now exchange places with this set...except that the top's on backwards. With an annoyed frown, she carefully turns it back around the right way.

((OOC: I think I'm starting to like Opal. ))

*Stored near the mirror are about six pairs of shoes that see semi-regular usage, though only one of them seems anything close to 'dressy'. Four of the remaining pairs are various athletic brands, including an authentic set of Air Jordans, plus a pair of open-toed sandals. Strangely, there's a few pieces of cream-colored fur on the latter.*

After taking a moment to put all the hangers with clothes on them down near the head of the bed, Opal picks out some of the athletic brands and the sandals for now, and sits at the foot to try them on for things like size and comfort. The first pair is put on the wrong feet, removed, switched, and then somehow wind up on the wrong feet again. After another swap does not fix this problem, she tosses that pair vaguely toward the closet in frustration and tries the sandals. Those go on okay, after pulling up some of the fur to examine it more closely for a second and then dismissing it with another knee-shrug. Another pair of athletic shoes are attempted with similar results to the first pair, but she keeps at it this time and finally the fifth try gets them on properly. Eventually she decides any of these shoes will do fine as long as they'll go on the right feet, but removes them for now since she isn't actually supposed to be going off anywhere and barefoot is fine inside of a house.

*Some funny-sounding snoring can be heard from the living room. It's almost amusing that someone as temperamental as Callista could sleep while making that sort of noise.*

After a little bit more wandering around the house, Opal heads back to the bedroom and looks to see if there are any pajamas hiding in the dresser or something. She hasn't actually slept since leaving the..facility or whatever it was called.

*There are three different pairs: one each in pink, green, and blue. There might be some importance to those specific colors, but one never knows. And at any rate, it's not important.*

After finding these, Opal just picks out the green pair more or less at random and tries to whirlwind it on in place of the day clothes...this time results in the pants over her head and the shirt partway up the legs. Another try of the rapid-change puts them in the right place, and then she jumps on the bed and goes to sleep fairly quickly, especially for being on top of the covers with her feet on the pillow and head toward the foot of the bed.

*The lights dim themselves over time until the entire suite is dark...*

*Callista is... probably not going to be the first one awake the next morning. Whether it's a consequence of using a ton of energy over the course of the day or something else altogether, she's a rather heavy sleeper.*

Opal awakes with a violent start, suddenly jerking into a handstand on the foot of the bed. "Waaagh! Rowboats! Nineteen ninety seven! Vintage riverdancer apple sticks!" This position is not tenable for very long, and she tilts off the bed onto the floor with an audible clunk, managing to land on her side despite being positioned perfectly to have the potential for a graceful foot-landing. After sitting up again and looking around in a brief panic, she rubs her side in minor pain while remembering the events of the previous night a little more clearly. "I...wrote."

*Somehow, Callista manages to stay asleep through all of this. Don't ask the author how.*

*Anyway, the lighting in the room adjusts itself slowly so as not to make it too bright for Opal's eyes.*

After standing fully up (right side up this time) and taking care of some business in the bathroom, Opal wanders out to the living-room area and sees Callista still asleep. Taking slow, careful steps she avoids making noise on the way to the kitchen, and then pauses, recalling what she saw in there last night and sort of cross-referencing it against some 'pre-coded' information regarding purchases of foodstuffs in hopes of putting together something Callista would want for supper...no, breakfast.

*Callista's stomach can be heard rumbling. She mutters something in her sleep and turns over, burying her face in the recliner's surface before continuing her snoring.*

Before long, Opal starts cooking. Her way of doing so seems to involve putting things in the wrong places: Oven instead of stovetop, microwave instead of oven, eggs going in the toaster. It's a rapid series of movements the entire time, but somehow despite all that it starts to smell like a properly-produced breakfast before long.
