Costume Tent

Postby Whatevr89532 » Thu Oct 27, 2016 6:34 pm

Just in time to be a last-minute, final resort for anyone who didn't get their halloween costumes yet, a big, gaudy tent pops into existence on some forgotten vacant lot of Muffinville, along with some ads in the papers nobody reads and a couple of internet ads on only the most obscure of websites.

Inside the tent is rolling rack after rack of costumes of all types and descriptions, not arranged with any particular visible structure or organization, the racks themselves mostly in neat rows with the occasional parts out of order. The strangest thing about this apparent costume shop is probably the fact that there is nobody manning it, nor any cashier counters or anything of the like at which a person manning the shop would be expected to work. To welcome the first would-be customers of this costume tent, there is only an eerie silence, and perhaps the occasional rustling of the costumes in a light breeze.

*Stepping into the shop, Raleigh grins.* I do so hope this is what I think it is. *Looks around to see what kinds of costumes he can pick from.*

There are plenty of stereotypical costumes: Things like witches and warlocks, vampires and werewolves, spooky undead-types, superheroes... There's some pokemon-based costumes scattered around here and there, too.

Hehehe. *Picks up a witch hat, a gunslinger costume's gun belt, the Soulsword from Magik's costume from the superhero section, the fangs from a vampire costume, they contacts for a werewolf costume, and some rather general black clothing aside from that from whatever random costume had such nearby.* Do I try it on before buying or pay at the counter?

There doesn't seem to be anyone to respond to him besides the wind rustling its way through the tent. Actually...the costumes he took parts from almost seem to be rustling a little more than the others? It could just be nothing, though.

Oh, I get it. *Looks for a dressing room so that he can put on the costume.*

There actually is an area conveniently labeled "Dressing rooms" by a sign. It's really just some curtains sectioning off small square-shaped bits of land within the tent, but it's close enough.

*Steps into the changing rooms and dons the a la carte costume. After doing so steps out to see how he looks.*

The fangs and contacts look real; the rest seem like they were tailored to fit him once they're on, even the sword seeming to match its balance to his preference. But overall the effect feels weird...confused, even. The different pieces feel like they're in conflict with each other, even though it wouldn't look bad maybe from an outside perspective.

Hm...alright. *Snatches up the rest of the costumes he had picked pieces from and using altered requip magic creates various amalgam costumes of the pieces.*

Somewhere in mixing and matching things, a combination of witch, vampire and werewolf parts suddenly results in a very noticeable effect. It feels like this appearance comes with a combination of moderate magic power, enhanced strength, enhanced agility and an excruciatingly severe sunlight allergy.

Yay, I got a tail. I always feel weird in forms without tails. Proper ears too. Hm... hemomancy skill set should be useful. Activating Tremere power set, Gangrel power set, Tzimisce power set. Bringing online Metis breed loadout, Theurge auspice initiated. Heh, I wonder how many other powers I can bring online in this form.

Ooh, and witch powers... ehehehehe, I know so many witches and their secrets. I do love costumes as they are useful.

Now, how do I pay? Not paying will likely have consequences.

The wind seems to pick up..or maybe it doesn't, it doesn't really feel like there's any stronger of a breeze than before. But the other costumes on the racks rustle more loudly than before all the same. It's like a faint whisper of speech. "Be...be..." This comes with a weak urge to respond 'we are' or 'I am', weakened further by a sense of indecisiveness about which of the two is actually correct.

Saying 'I am' has some kind of immediate binding effect on the costume. It takes on the traits of a form one has become and loses those of clothing that can simply be taken off, and the form seems to come with urges related to the costumes: In this case, a combination of mild bloodthirst, a desire to howl at the moon, and a small drive to do magical research while cackling ominously.
