Ah, sir! You don't have to... *Claudette tries to tell Lyre that she'd be willing to get the door, but he's gone before she can finish the sentence.* ...Maybe next time. *Now that he's not around, and she has nothing better to do, Claudette goes ahead and sits back down.*

[Ordren]

Ordren whips around to greet the man. " Names Ordren, I was hopin' ta learn some magic. I have mah own book an everything!" He says lifting a black tome with a bronze serpentine dragon clasp.

"An I can pay in trinkets."

Lyre scratches his head. "There are some proper magic schools around..though I'm not sure if they take trinket-based currency. Take just about everything else, though. I'm not really in the market for an apprentice right now but I wouldn't mind lending you a few spellbooks I own, maybe showing you a spell or two..." After another short pause for thought: "You'd have to get approval from my familiar first, though. How do you feel about going in to meet him?"

Inside, Jyrras makes sounds suspiciously like laughter and/or jeering while watching the report of the legal proceedings between the giant robots' respective lawyers.

Objection. On what grounds? I couldn't think of anything else to say. Objection sustained.

[Ordren]

"I have no problem meetin' up with someone whobis familiar to you, are they like a close friend or family?" Ordren says, being completely serious.

[Ookalf]

*wanders over and climbs on top of her head* Don't mind me, I'm just hanging out wherever.

"Err, I meant..you know, it's probably better I just show you what I'm talking about. Don't panic, we're about to teleport." The wizard waves his hands in a particular way, and they glow slightly before producing a few sparks with a small fzzt sound. After that, he and Ordren are abruptly inside of the relaxation room along with a maidbot with a cat on her head, and a rat sitting on the arm of one of the couches. More specifically, they each have their feet exactly a foot above the floor, and hover there just long enough for Lyre to notice this fact and say "Aww sh--" before gravity reinstates itself. Lyre tumbles comically into a small heap and mutters something like "..oot."

[Ordren]

Ordren drops, about as gracefully. "Well dress my last pig in satin and call her the belle of the ball. That was neat!"

Surely, there are better seats for you...

Probably, but those are 'elsewhere' and not 'wherever'.

[Ordren]

"Neat! A talkin' cat!" Ordren says walking up to ambush cat. "So you are that familiar that my new friend was talkin'about before we went and teleportaled!"

Ordren dusts off his shirt both an attempt to smooth his shirt and clean his hands. He extends a single hand in a petward manner. "Name's Ordren, pleasure to meetcha cat!"

...If you're looking for the familiar, I believe it's the rat you want, big guy. Still... *lengthens his tail and shakes Ordren's hand with it* Call me Ambush. Everyone else does.

Probably, but those are 'elsewhere' and not 'wherever'.

If you say so... Ah! *After Lyre crashes in, Claudette quickly hands Ambush over to Ordren and rushes over to him.* Sir! Are you all right!

The wizard recomposes himself fairly quickly. "I'm fine, I'm pretty used to this sort of thing." He gets up and dusts himself off. "I have just enough chaotic magic in me to make normal spells occasionally do something slightly different, and more rarely something extremely different."

The rat in question seems to be engaged in watching TV. His squeaks sound a bit like an avid sports fan's voice.
