*Swift starts to think something, but stops after a brief analysis of the man. Instead, he slowly chants something in his own language. As he morphs into her humanoid form amidst a small cloud of blue sparkles, it becomes evident that what Swift was uttering was a magical incantation.*

Swift: *hand behind her head* Sorry about that, sir. I wasn't sure if your typing would allow my telepathy to register.

"Eh, well, I understand pokemon speak you know. No' that I'm complainin'," says the man with a nod. "Eh, I'm Clyve. I like to think I'm Whyte there's rival, for all I haven't beat her yet."
"Well, you did force me to use Frustration a couple of times," she says.

Swift: I need the practice, anyway. *nods at Clyve* I'm Swift, a friend of hers. You've probably seen me around here and there.

"Hm..." He scratches his head a bit. "Yeh, you're the Umbreon what goes around with those two ghost-types, right? More heard about than seen, I'd say. But I'm being awful rude, you two haven't got any food yet have yeh? Go on, get," he says, waving vaguely in the direction of the food line, which is only a few people long at this point. Whyte shrugs and starts off that way.

Swift: *nods at Clyve before catching up to Whyte* I really did need the practice, but--- *sniffs the air few times; smiles eagerly* ...Oh hai, sensory overload.

"Your nose is more sensitive in humanoid form? I'd think it would be other way around," says Whyte, while looking at the menu. There are actually two separate menus, one of which full of various types of berries and various things like poffins, blocks, and so on made from them and, the other of which looks like a generic fast-food restaurants menu, with fries, burgers, chicken and the obligatory coffee, milkshake, and supposedly healthier menu items because that's what all the other fast food restaurants are doing right now. The selection of berries is mostly just the common ones, but they apparently have a special on Enigma berries that comes with a long disclaimer, far too small to read from probably even right up against the menu it's printed on.

Swift: It's more because I'm actually in a restaurant instead of just waiting outside. Nice...

*The Umbreon-girl looks over both menus. Her eyes light up as she reads them, but the more obvious evidence of her excitement is the fact that her golden bands have started glowing.*

The Eevee-girl stifles a giggle looking at Swift's excitement, and says, "Well, you can order whatever you want, I'm buying." There's one person ordering and another in line ahead of them at this point.

Swift: *settles just enough to stop the glowing* Whatever I get, I'm keeping it light. Breakfast wasn't too long ago for me.

"Hm. I was already looking for lunch, honestly..." Whyte says, somewhat distractedly as she's looking up at the menu. Pretty soon there's only one person at the counter in front of them.

*Swift wonders for a moment about time zones, universe differences and such, but stays quiet otherwise to better allow Whyte to decide what she wants to get.*

Before long, it's their turn! The woman behind the counter says, "Welcome to McBerry's, what would you like?"
Whyte says, "A cheeseburger combo with a berry bowl, sweet flavor."
"Do you want an enigma berry in your bowl? We're having a special, it doesn't cost anything extra."
"Hm...that depends, what's the huge disclaimer about?"
"Oh, well, we grow all of our berries here in Muffinville; they're usually free from color energy, obviously, but enigma berries have a tendency to pick up the traits of other fruits in the same universe. They've been tested and there isn't what's considered a dangerous amount of color energy in a single berry, at most enough to slightly affect a person mentally for less than a half-hour. The warning is mostly just 'don't eat a bunch of them, we don't know what would happen then.'"
"Okay. I guess I can take one, then."
"Sure," says the woman behind the counter, nodding.

Swift: And I'll have a Razz Berry Smoothie for myself. No Enigma Berries for me, please.

"Okay," says the cashier, nodding. She names a price, which Whyte pays, and then directs them to the other counter on the right to await their food. While they're waiting, the Eevee-girl looks around idly and hums something that sounds suspiciously like the pokecenter theme.

((I've just realized that "canonical" Enigma berries aren't nearly as crazy as I thought they were, but whatever, I've committed to it now.))
