*Swift looks back at Shiver, then at Whyte. She looks plaintively at what's left of the smoothie, visibly unsure what to say to her friend.*

"Heey, I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings," says Whyte. Her arm briefly reaches toward Swift to hug her or pat her on the back or something, but she glares at it and puts it back down. "I don't know how good you are, and I have kind of a very...strategically tuned mind. So my first instinct is to think of an unknown in terms of averages, and on average..I'd expect it to be unfair to use my whole moveset against someone who has four. I could be wrong."

"Oh, do uh, do all of yeh have human forms, like?" says Clyve, trying to stay out of Whyte's way conversation-wise.

Swift: *looking less sure of herself* Oh. ...Hm. It's been a while since my level's been measured, but if I had to guess, all three of us are right around 50 or so. My main attacks you've seen already, either through words or actions. Conceivably, the best way for me to have a chance at winning would be to do what Shiver said and ask my boss to swap my moveset around.

"I lost count after I learned Trump Card...which I think waaas, forty-five or so? It's been a while since then, but I've always leveled really slowly compared to other Eevees for some reason. Probably something to do with the curse business. But anyway...switching movesets would change the possibilities I'd have to look out for at the beginning to the same as if I was fighting someone who can remember everything at once, but you still might have to put up with some disadvantage after using each one once. I wouldn't put it past you to be clever enough to beat me before that happens, though."

"So did you, uh, model the illusion after somebody or just use some kinda...I don' how illusions work, is there a template?"

Whyte nods. "Yeah, that's fine. Would you, uh, mind if I watched you spar with your teammates every now and then?"

Shiver: --Saw someone walking around like that once. I just tweaked it a bit to make it look more like my base form, and that was that.-- *shrugs and eats* --Once you have mind illusions down, physical illusions like this are just the next step up.--

*As Whyte speaks to her, Gengar phases through the ceiling in Swift's blind spot and---for the sake of being funny---attempts a Lick attack against her. Without looking, Swift reaches back, grabs Gengar's tongue, yanks it and lets go. The recoil launches the foiled ghost-type back through the ceiling and out of sight; mind you, Swift doesn't seem to have noticed that she was even attacked.*

Swift: *seems to perk up a bit on hearing Whyte's request* Sure! No problem.

The Eevee-girl headtilts. "Uh..how much practice did you say you've had with that form? I mean, you have to be pretty used to having hands to do that..."

"I'll have ta take your word for it," says the Mightyena-man. "Uh...did I actually introduce myself or just start gabbing?"

Swift: *doesn't hear the quieter comment* Just enough to get used to the movements. Why? *looks quizzical*

"Well, you seem to have just no-selled a Gengar without looking at it. Or maybe the illusionist over there is making me see things, I dunno," she adds, with a vague gesture toward Shiver.

Swift: *blinks* I... never noticed. *looks down at her hand, frowns, and wipes it off with a napkin* Although it would explain why there's almost no feeling in my hand.

"I've always wondered just how some pokemon can paralyze things by licking them, but their tongues aren't paralyzed themselves. I mean, I doubt there's any special way to lick things that stuns them, so it would have to be in the spit..."

"I always thou' it was the fact someone just licked yeh outta nowhere," interjects Clyve.

Swift: I guess you both are right, but thinking about it, whatever I did must've been purely reflexive... *takes one more sip of the smoothie and stands up* Whyte, could you please spare me a bit of change? I need to grab some Cheri soda.

Shiver: --Why don't you blow the staff a kiss? I saw a few of them eying you when I was up there. Maybe you can get it for free.--

*Swift briefly switches back to her native tongue and says something rather scathing at her teammate.*

Shiver: *coloring visibly* --Yes, well, same to you! Hmph!-- *turns back to her snack*

Clyve slowly buries his face in his hands while Whyte sort of awkwardly looks away and scratches at an ear. "You know most people around here understand pokemon speak, right? Like, including both of us? Anyway, I offered to treat you already." She gets out a five-dollar bill (more than twice the price of a single soda) and pushes it toward Swift's non-paralyzed hand.

Swift: *a bit testily* That was for the benefit of those listening in. Excuse me a few moments. *accepts the $5 and heads for the counter*

Shiver: *folds her arms and sits back in her seat* --Ten to one that her father was a Camerupt.--
