Ambushed

*Mid-morning in Muffinville. The sun's shining, the birds are singing... and the city seems to have undergone a few cosmetic changes.*

*On every flagpole in the city, beneath any flag that was already there is a smaller black flag with a set of glowing yellow eyes on it. A fairy and a dark elf in pitch-black uniforms are seen on a sidewalk, handing out pamphlets to passers-by. Random buildings throughout the city are sporting gigantic sets of cat ears, including City Hall and Circe's magic shop. Still other random buildings and facilities have been painted black, including the First Church of Catastrophe and Muffinville Stadium. Assorted extragalactic, mystical, and fictional creatures are seen scurrying about, doing whatever business that they have.*

*And in the middle of it all, perched on one of a maple tree's branches, is Ambush Cat... looking both bored and disappointed.*

[Ookalf]

*Ookalf walks by and, spotting Ambush in the tree, stops to greet him.* Hey, Ambush. How've you been?

[AmbushCat]

*sighs* I've been better. I decided to take over Muffinville for a few days while everyone was gone, and it worked a little bit too well.

[Ookalf]

*Ookalf nods.* You don't think anyone cared?

*Pets Ambush* Poor Ambush. It is a shame, isn't it?

[AmbushCat]

*Ookalf nods.* You don't think anyone cared?

Right. I mean, look. *summons a little crown into existence on his head* Watch this.

*calls out to a group of schoolgirls* Hey, don't forget that the new pet store has to be built!

Girl #7,945,824.74: Sure. The intersection of Ninth and Random, right? *to her friends* C'mon, let's grab our uniforms and get to work. *hurries off*

Yeah. *tail twitches* They're following orders, sure, but they're completely apathetic to the fact that I've taken over.

Yeah, I do... Somehow, Muffinville just hasn't been the same lately.

Yeah. My original plan had been to TF the both of you at some point, but I don't think it's going to make much of a difference now.

[Ookalf]

Aw, I'm sure we could still try it...

I dunno. Would that really succeed in making this place any more bizarre than it already is?

[Ookalf]

Hm, yeah, maybe not...

[AmbushCat]

*shrug* We could still try it if you really want it, but---

*nose twitches* ...Wait, hold on. Something's tickling my... my--- WA-CHOO!

*Ambush's sneeze takes the form of a bluish-white TF beam, large enough to catch both Ookalf and Konoko in the blast depending on their reaction time!*

[Ookalf]

Ah! *Ookalf wasn't expecting something quite like that, and gets blasted!*

[AmbushCat]

*It'll probably come as no surprise to the readers that, in light of Ambush Cat daily shredding the couch of reality and the fourth wall never reaching completion, that Ookalf rapidly shifts from his normal form to that of a vaguely humanoid Meowstic (with emphasis on vaguely).

*Since there aren't any mirrors on hand, though, it might come as a surprise to Ookalf.*
