"Right. The purpose was so I couldn't tell my old friends who I was..not that I think it would've helped to tell them. And so I couldn't easily explain that pokeballs hurt for me. I've had a few trainers who came to understand that pretty quickly anyway..among a number of others who never got it, or didn't care." She starts to adapt her stance a little bit, becoming more stable as she does. "Um..do you need any help figuring out walking?"

*Swift tries to get all the way up onto her feet unaided. She succeeds only in face-planting into the side of a filing cabinet.*

Swift: Walking and standing, I think. Ouch...

"Here.." The Eevee-girl moves over to Swift carefully, and bends slightly, offering a hand. If it's taken, she helps to pull her up to her feet and then keeps holding on, attempting to keep her from moving in a way that will make Swift fall over again. "I feel kinda bad, this is just about the best thing that could've happened to me, but I wouldn't have wanted to drag you into a form you didn't like along with it.."

*Swift accepts the Eevee-girl's support, bracing herself against the filing cabinet with her other hand. Her legs wobble, but she is able to keep herself up with said assistance.*

Swift: That's okay... it's nothing my boss can't fix.

She looks for any particular errors in Swift's stance, trying to be sure those legs aren't actually too weak to support her own weight. "You've mentioned your boss before, I think..what sort of person is..ahm, the boss?" The storm outside hasn't begun to let up; in fact, a crack of thunder can be heard. "Whew..if just a few drops of that can do this, I'd hate to see what happens to someone who just stands around and gets soaked out there."

*Swift's primary problem, from what it appears, is that she's trying to put more weight down on the toes and metatarsus than on the rest of the foot; a secondary issue is that her feet are placed too far apart. The rest of it is due to the size of her body, having muscles and bones that either weren't there previously or in different shapes compared to her natural form. Her weight is about as normal as someone of her height can get, so that's not a problem.*

Swift: Well, as I told you earlier... she's an oddball. She does things at her own pace, drives those people who deserve it crazy, and she's a living terror if she's angry. *wobbles a little bit, then steadies again* ...Sleeps a lot, too, and she has gray skin, of all things. But... she cares a great deal about what happens to us, and she lets us spend a ton of time outside our Poké Balls. As long as we don't attack people, we have free license to do what we please.

"Sounds pretty nice," she says, nodding, "I'm sure I wouldn't mind having a trainer like that. Um..try leaning your weight a little farther back on your feet, so it's not all toward the toes."

"I've been wondering..it seems sort of like you're using Psychic. But..Umbreons are dark-type, at least everywhere I've been."

Swift: *blinks* I hadn't... realized I'd been doing that.

*She tries to adjust her weight as instructed. Her feet seem to be a bit stubborn, if that adjective could be used to describe them, and it looks to take more effort than expected.*

Swift: And yes, they are. Amber---that's her name, by the way: Amber Harrison---did some research years ago... we can't learn it on our own, sure, but it can be taught to us. So... that's what she did. She wanted to understand me better and I wanted a defence against the Fighting type, so we both got something out of it.

"Hmm..I guess most people just take the machines for granted, so they don't think of actually teaching moves directly like that."

"..Oh! I suppose it'd be nice if you had a name to call me by, since I know yours. But I..actually don't remember what I was called way back when I was a human. And I've had like ten different nicknames since then, other than just being called 'Eevee', which isn't exactly a good name...hm.."

*Swift nods at the first statement, a bit distracted with the task of keeping her feet pressed against the floor. She finally manages the task before she can think of using Psychic to force the issue, although she's still a bit unsteady.*

Swift: Well, if there was a nickname you liked the most, I could call you that... not sure how well it would fit your current appearance, though.

The Eevee-girl attempts to sort of wean Swift off of her hand's support, keeping it around in case she should start to lose her balance again. "Hmm..Let's see. I've been called Mark, Gray, Whyte, Earl, Tanner, Jarvis, um..Kitsu, Malon, Roric, and..I still don't know how to pronounce it, but ampersand-dollarsign-a-percentsign-z-z-x-u-v-y-l. That's really just off the top of my head, not all of them."

*Swift, meantime, sloooowwwwly moves her hand off the file cabinet. Her entire body trembles, and she reflexively puts it back for a few moments before trying again.*

Swift: "Whyte" sounds like a nice name. *sweatdrops* I can't make heads, tails, or side of that last one.

((OOC: Hooooo-weee, is there going to be a storm tonight! 8) A flood watch is in effect, and there's a spectacular lightning show off to our southwest. I'm not certain yet how much time I'll be able to spend online tomorrow, so we'll see how things go.))

"Hmm..yeah, it'll work," she says, "thank you." After a brief pause, the newly-dubbed Whyte giggles. And then says, "Don't ask Whyte, ask Wynaut!"

((OOC: It hasn't started storming yet, so that's good news.))

Swift: *pauses in mid-attempt, trying to think of a suitable comeback* Really? *does a Wobbufett salute* That's the way it is, ma'am. *waits a few beats, then laughs in amusement*

"Heheh..oh, wow, that's not like me at all," says Whyte, looking thoughtful. "This is weird..I seem to remember being a lot more serious. I mean, in a couple of worlds where there were only pokemon and no people I could practically talk normally and nobody was trying to catch me..I made friends, but I was always more..reserved than that."

((Hope you're all right after the storm.))
