Elliot heard Jean, but groaned as he looked up to see Logos was already gone. He squinted in the dark basement, and then tugged on Jean's arm and pointed across to the corner.

"I think there's steps over there... ", he said in a quiet voice, blushing a little as the dress rustled around his thighs when he moved about.

The Witch had to switch her focus to avoid the dagger thrown by Logos. Once more she dissipated into mist, and Blaze suddenly tumbled back towards the ground, her ears shifting into black furred kitty ones to match her tail before her feet crashed back into the gingerbread floorboards!

Jean peers through the darkness and nods.

"Alright, let's go." she says, taking Elliot's hand and leading him over to the steps, climbing up and pushing up on the trapdoor on top!

-----

Blaze grunts, almost meowing as she hits the floor as Logos pursues the mist, drawing a sword. She swings it, over and over, through the mist, either trying to keep the Witch from reforming or trying to cut her as she does reform

The trap door was too heavy for Jean. It would rise an inch or two, but she simply didn't have the strength in her weakened body to lift it high enough for them to escape. Elliot watched her in silence for a moment before squeezing up beside her, and joined in. Now, between the two of them, using all their might, they managed to lift the trap door high enough that surely one of the others would notice!

The Witch's cackling laughter filled the room as the mist zipped out, seeming to avoid the slashes from Logos' sword by mere inches. Rosemarie came at it from the other direction, swinging her scythe, but the mist shot up over their heads as the metal of their weapons clashed together. Within a second, the witch had reformed, and Rose and Logos found all four of their hands were now bound together between them, tied with thick rope.

Blaze does indeed notice the door and rushes over, pulling it open.

"... oh damn, that's you two isn't it?" she says with a sigh. "Get to somewhere safe, fast."

-----

Logos grunts as her hands are bound to Rosemarie's. Holding her sword carefully, she starts trying to cut through the rope with the blade, wiggling her fingers as carefully as possible while Kucy rushes at the Witch and strikes at the back of her knees with the base of the staff!

Elliot crawls out from the trapdoor as Blaze pulls it open. He blushed a little, nodding his head, but as he went to run towards the door, both he and Jean felt a strong tingle run down their arms, and flames suddenly flickered around their fingers. Amazingly, it didn't burn their skin. In fact, it didn't hurt at all. Jean in particular would start to get the sensation that it could be controlled...

Lucy's staff catches the back of the woman's knees, and she falls backwards, crashing onto her butt, but at the same time, a hand reaches out, and grabs onto the girl's ankle, and she feels her blood go cold, and a chill shoot up her spine as she was overcome by fear, almost to the point of bursting out into tears!

Jean stares down at her hands, looking a little bit scared.

"I-Is this like what happened to Lucy?..."

She raises her hands, palms out, pointing at the Witch and tries to release this strange sensation at her!

-----

Lucy cries out in fear, pulling away from the witch, tears flowing down her face.

"Let me go!"

As Jean raised her hand, the feeling seemed to rush down her arm. Glowing lines appeared briefly on her skin before forming a large, glowing ball around her hand, which trembled for a moment and then shot across the room as a fireball! It engulfed the witch, orange sparkles dancing around her before there was a large poofing sound, and all that was left was a pile of ash on the floor, and the strong smell of freshly baked cookies in everyone's nostrils...

The Exorcists all stare at the pile of ash that was once the witch, assuming the effects of her magic died with her.

"Of course... she died via oven in the story. Should have used the flame thrower..." Blaze mutters.

Anyone that was being held captive by her magic was released, although Blaze retained her kitty ears and tail after the witch's demise. Elliot was staring at Jean with a look of awe, and then glanced down to his own hands.

"How did you do that?", he asked, amazed, while Brittnie, back in her human form, dragged herself out of a pile of rubble, her yellow dress now tattered and ruined. Rosemarie gave her a brief glance, but quickly looked away, and moved to the pile of ash, leaning down to sniff at it.

"Of course..." Blaze mutters as she grabs her tail, looking around at an unstickied Okuni who dusts herself off and regains her composure, and a nonterrified Lucy who gets to her feet, breathing faintly. Logos goes over to Brittnie and grabs her arm, pulling her roughly to her feet.

"Uh, it was kinda like when I used my faith powers... just a rush up my arms and out." Jean explains to Elliot, wiggling her fingers.

Brittnie blushed, thanking Logos for her help, and then she looks at Blaze in surprise.

"Did we win?", she asked in a confused tone.

Elliot was wriggling his fingers like Jean when Melanie's cackling voice could be heard all around them.

"Very impressive! I wonder where you'll all end up next", she teased as a glowing white portal appeared out in the forest, possibly visible to some of the group through the gaping holes in the gingerbread house.

"We are alive, but still trapped. Take that as you will." Logos says simply to Brittnie.

The Exorcists peer at the new portal, Blaze rubbing the back of her neck.

"Well, we can live here, surviving on gingerbread until we die, or..." she says, before stepping through. Jean takes Elliot's hand and smiles, leading him into the portal, the other Exorcist's following after, Logos pushing Brittnie in front of her.

The group are once more blinded by bright light as they step into the portal, and when they emerge, they are in what appears to be a medieval town. The sun is lovely and blue, and the sun is shining above them. The streets are cobbled and narrow, with little stone buildings on either side, while a large castle sits right in the middle of the town, towering above everything else.

The building closest to them seems to be a mill of some kind. At the side of it was a large, wooden grinding mechanism, a couple of old donkeys circling it to keep it operational. A boy in his late teens, with floppy brown hair and simple, patched up clothing was leaning against a stack of flour sacks, staring wistfully towards the castle when the strange group suddenly appeared.

"Uh… Hello?".

The Exorcists all look around warily, fingers itching to grab at weapons should a threat appear. When the young lad speaks, they all turn to stare at him, spreading out a bit.

"Hi... where are we?" Blaze asks.

As they spread out around him, the boy holds his hands up to show he was unarmed, and looked a little startled. He turns slightly, glancing at the mill building, and then sighs.

"The city of Beucoh. This mill belongs to my family. Well, technically the building belongs to my eldest brother, and the donkeys to my middle brother. The inherited the business when my Father passed away, but… they're not too interested in work", he sighed, and then waved a hand down the street, to a two-floored building, it's windows open, letting out quite rowdy noise.

"They prefer to spend what little money we have left in there", he added, just as the doors swung open, and an old man stumbled out, drunk, and promptly collapsed face-first into the ground.
