A Ready-Maid Residence

Claire: *sweatdrops* That I can't claim to know the answers to, Miss Chris. If there's anything I've learned during my servitude, it's that Muffinville strikes when you least expect it to.

*The maid blushes, probably recalling a few minor incidents here and there, then finishes the rest of her ice cream. She didn't give herself too much, it appears.*

Pausing for a moment, Chris sighs a little bit, but nods in understanding. "Yeah...kinda wish I had known that before..." She says, sighing once again, before going silent and resuming eating her ice cream.

*Claire nods, not sure how to respond at first. She turns in her seat to check the time, then settles back in again and lets Chris continue eating. After a little bit...*

Claire: *a trifle nervously* Excuse my impoliteness, little fox, but since I told you a little bit about myself, would you mind telling me a little about yourself?

[Marky]

Pausing in her eating, Chris stares at Claire for a moment, before carefully setting down her bowl of ice cream. "Um...well, I just recently got here from another dimension...and where I'm from, me and my friends were living in the aftermath of a nuclear holocaust...happened about 5 years ago or so. It's...been rough...honestly. Was kinda glad coming here, at first, but...well..." She says, staring down at herself.

Claire: *nods in understanding* Hm. Were you the only one who came to Muffinville, or did your friends...?

[Marky]

"Oh, my friends came with me, thankfully." Chris says, smiling. "I dunno if I would feel all that great about being here without them..."

Claire: *pleased* That's good to know. You think they'll take your current state well enough?

[Marky]

Pausing for a moment, Chris frowns a little. "I, um...well, I think so..." She says, before mumbling 'hope so'.

Claire: *nods* If you think they will, that's good enough for me. Either way, though... *withdraws a key from her dress and places it next to Chris's ice cream* I'd like for you to have this.

Blinking, Chris slowly picks up the key, looking it over. "Um...what's this to?" She asks, looking up at Claire.

Claire: That's the spare key to my apartment, Miss Chris. If you and your friends ever need another place to hang out, you're more than welcome to visit anytime.

[Marky]

Twirling the key between her fingers a little, Chris smiles and nods back to Claire. "Thanks, Miss Claire. I appreciate it...a lot."

Claire: *closes her eyes for a moment, smiling back* I'm happy to be of service. *stifles a yawn* Oh. Excuse me... I must be more tired than I thought.

Nodding, Chris smiles back to Claire, before pausing as she noticing Claire looking a bit tired. "Um...should I...maybe go or so?"

Claire: *shakes her head* No, that's quite alright. *glances at the TV screen, suppressing another yawn* It doesn't look like you got too far into the game, and it wouldn't be right for me to interrupt... I had to drag a sleeping shopper out of the store earlier, and it took a not inconsiderable amount of effort.
