-----Hari

"Oh, of course you can, sweety!" She grins brightly, her entire body seeming to invite Elliots gaze. "But you could bet other things as well, you know~ This is a 'special' table... you could bet things like your gender, age, and abilities! With any luck, you'll even come out on top!" She grins even wider. "Would you like to do that~?" She asks, invitingly, leaning her distracting 'assets' forward.

-----Whatevr

Calypso smiles at Sarizini as he sits in a rather comfortable purple chair, Calypso herself sitting across the room from him. "So... you want to work here, correct? What are your credentials?"

...You know... Sarizini is finding it rather... attractive, to work for this woman. She's a clearly powerfull demon, and could probably get him any number of things for his pay... if nothing else, depending on her influence in other realms, it'd be a nice name to drop.

-----Marky

A few of the people at the table check, and Chris's feeling like he's sure to win! I mean, all he needs is a Jack of Diamonds... and that's, like, a sure thing. There's absolutely no way it couldn't happen!

...However... across the table... this one guy, foolish man that he is, opts to raise the bet to $125. Silly man~ Sure, a few of the other betters fold at this bet and his confident look, but Chris can practically see him sweating... sure, nobody else can see it, and technically he isn't, actually, sweating, but he practically is!

Elliot was barely paying attention to what the girl was saying as she leaned forward. His head bobbed forward a couple of times, and when she asked if she'd like to take part in the special bets, a somewhat silly grin spread across her lips. "Sure... ", he murmured. "If you think I should... you know all this stuff better than me... ".

Holding the scoff in at the man's bet, Chris G sits there for a moment or two to make it seem like he's thinking long and hard about it, before calling the man's raise and betting $125. Now all that was left was to see the final card, right?! Looking over to the dealer, Chris watches expectantly, hoping it's the card he needs that comes out next.

Well, it's not like he didn't already mean to come and work here. Plus it would be a terrible offense to offer to work and then not do so if he qualified, and terrible offenses are best avoided when dealing with any sort of demon at all. "Well, I am a stage magician by trade, trained by two or three others of the same sort and last generation. Some of my magic is real and some illusory, but I prefer to keep it a trade secret which is which--it's all perfectly harmless to audience and volunteers, though. As for experience, I have done acts in about seventy different Earths' Vegases from time to time, a few equivalent cities, and once even performed before an entire casino planet..I forget what it's called, it's in the Solana galaxy. Anyway. I have generally received favorable reviews, and if you need them I have a few of my references' cards on me somewhere or other."

-----Harri

"Okay, then, great!" She bounces a bit more, grinning widely as she presses some buttons that are out of Elliot's view. "Now, then, shall we get started~?" She asks, her body oh so distracting...

-----Markry

The bet is matched! Only three people remain at a table, and... out comes... a Jack of Diamonds! Yes! A Royal Straight Flush! He's won! I mean, it was obvious that he was going to win from the get go, but still... there's a slight beeping sound that signifies the deposite to his bank account, and the cat girl dealer smiles blindingly at him. "Great job, Nya~ Would you like to try something else, Nya?"

Well... why not! I mean, it's obvious that his luck is at its peak... maybe he could go another round of cards... or maybe even something based more on luck! He's sure to win!

-----Whatevr

Calypso nods slightly. "I recall a Vegas or two in my time..." She leans back a bit, clearly thinking about it, taking a few long moments to just... think, in silence...

In that time, Sarizini might find himself... worrying, a bit. What if she says no? What if she doesn't want him? Wh-what would he do then? That would be-

Whatever the next thought was going to be is interupted as Calypso speaks up again. "Could you give me a minor demonstration, just so I know for sure you're as good as you seem?" A minor flood of relief fills the magician... he might still have a chance after all...

...Depending on Sarizini's experience with mental manipulations on himself, he might, might be able to tell that... something... is wrong with his thoughts, but it's impossible to tell what...

Elliot nodded eagerly, still gazing at her chest with that distant smile, "Yeah... ", he said, letting out a rather happy sigh. "Ohh... you might have to show me how to play this one as we go along. What's it called again?".

Chris G beams as he won the hand, and smiles even more once the beeping sound signifies the deposit into his bank account, before pausing. "Thanks. And, well, what would you recommend, if you don't mind?"

Sarizini is generally familiar with the effects of psychic influence, at least, and knows very well some of that is going on. He usually finds that psychically powerful persons he has to deal with sometimes feel the need to mess with the thoughts and emotions of others as a manner of intimidation--a warning not to cheat or mess with them. Usually being professional, logical and respectful in thought and deed is enough to prevent unnecessary outbursts and reassure the person involved. It isn't a matter of pushing back against things, like the clearly foreign nervousness about Calypso's rejection or acceptance, but gliding through them and making them one's own. Being excited about a performance can help energize it when one takes command...and it would be a shame not to show some of the people of this world his art, after all. Engaging in metathought at the edge of one's consciousness can also be helpful.

In any case, he says, "Certainly," his demeanor at least still as calm as ever. He takes off his hat. "This is a very typical trick," he says, reaching in and pulling out a live rabbit, "so I prefer to generally start with it and then mix things up from there." He gently opens the rabbit's mouth and pulls out a deck of cards, somehow dry; then he puts the rabbit back into the hat and places it back onto his head. He fans the cards out, all of them facing Calypso, and pulls the 4 of diamonds out, holding it between his index and middle finger. He closes the rest of that hand, and spins it just so that the card is out of view for an instant, and it vanishes; then he opens up his hand again to reveal four small jewels which certainly appear to be authentic diamonds. Then he folds the cards in his other hand neatly into a deck and spreads it out again immediately, and not only is the deck in an entirely different order, but without the hand it disappeared from ever coming near the deck the four of diamonds is back in the deck. He closes it again and releases it, allowing it to fall down into his sleeve. It looks as if the upper part of the sleeve should be showing where the cards went, but it rests as flat against his upper arm as ever. The diamonds seem to have gone missing as well during all of that.

"..And I generally go from there. But a full stage and audience with possible volunteers is necessary for the really impressive tricks, I'm sure you understand."

"Oh, okay!" She grins happily, leaning a bit forward as she holds out part of her deck. "So, the goal here is to get as close as you can to 21, without ... I give you two cards, which only you can see, and then I deal two to myself, only one of which is available for you to see! Every round, you choose if you want a card... if you do, then I give you one, to add to your starting two, and then I get a chance to draw a card. This goes on until you opt to not get a card! Then we look at our totals, and the one that's closest to 21, without going over, wins! Face cards are 10's, and an Ace is a 1 or 11, depending on what you'd prefer. Ties go to me."

She grins brightly. "Understand~?"

-----Marky

"Um..." The cat girl thinks for a bit. "Weeeeell... you could always give Roulette a go! And there's always one or two slots free..."

-----Kether

The bouncer gives the asian man a slight warning look, but doesn't give him any fight. He finds himself in the Casino, with its purple motiff. Assuming he takes his money card, he has the entire casino to explore; slots, cards, a bar, and more, all hosted by sexy girls!

-----Whatevr

There's an... interesting thing about the effects on his emotions... just 'accepting' it doesn't really do anything other then make it stronger, and it's slowly growing; the desire for this job, and a subtle fear of disapointing Calypso take further prescence in Sarizini's mind... and she doesn't even seem to take note of his mental acceptance, like she's unaware of it. "I'll admit that's very impressive, Sarizini..." A flush of pride rises up at the praise, "I, myself, never had much of a talent for magic, so I always find it quite interesting. However, I find that this place is full of powerfull magic, and high level science, and everything in between. Do you feel confident that you could fool even expert eyes?"

"Hmm. Well, prestidigitation is truly more of an art form than a deception. It's really more important that the illusions be entertaining than that they fool anyone..You know, the best and most receptive audience I ever had was in a world entirely populated by stage magicians. But I digress; a good illusion should give an observer every opportunity to believe it is true, and I know I can do that. There's just no helping a skeptical expert, but they have their own kind of fun figuring out how it's all done." Well, just because he 'wants' to work for Calypso doesn't mean he can't still take pride in the art itself. And if she's being honest about not knowing much on magic (stage magic, he assumes she means, what with her being a likely-powerful demon of some sort), then he certainly hopes she is pleased with his explanation of the way his occupation works from the inside.

Curious about the new casino, Mischa wanders up to its doors! He pauses at the sight of the somewhat intimidating-looking bouncer, however, and, feeling nervous, glances at the signs near the door. CTC officers welcome? he wonders. I wonder why they feel the need to single them out...?

Still, he's curious to know what's going on inside... so, a bit nervously, he approaches the bouncer!

Pausing for a moment, Chris G chuckles a little. "I think I'll pass on the slots, but I might just go and give Roulette a go. Thanks." He says, before taking out his card and pocketing it, before looking around for the Roulette!
