Jerona: Lessons in Psychopomping

[Blaze]

Yama is sitting at a table, sipping some tea and reading a newspaper by candlelight.

"Ah welcome back. How did it go?"

[KonokoHasano]

Jerona nods as she sits down at the table. "It went just fine. I managed to defeat the dragon without too much trouble, mainly thanks to the poison that I had absorbed into the scythe. It had quite a bit of treasure, and I considered the idea of taking it. However, I decided to just leave it."

[Blaze]

Yama gives a smile and nods.

"Personally, I would have taken the treasure, sold it and given the money to charity, but good. I am sure that family can rest easier now."

[KonokoHasano]

"I figured some adventurers could likely happen upon the treasure." She responded. "So... what now?"

[Blaze]

"Well, you had better rest. Starting tomorrow, you're an official psychopomp, you will be very busy I imagine." Yama says

[KonokoHasano]

Jerona nods at that. "I imagine I'll also be visiting quite a few places too in my job."

[Blaze]

Yama gives another nod.

"Aye. You may be partially a spirit, but you still get tired. Go to bed."

[KonokoHasano]

She yawns a little, giving a nod. "That's probably the best suggestion of the night at the moment." Stands up and stretches, heading towards and into her room.

[Blaze]

As she heads up the stairs, Yama calls out!

"Jerona! How did you get burned?"

[KonokoHasano]

Jerona thinks for a moment. "I didn't even fully notice that. It was from the dragon that I killed."

[Blaze]

"A burn from a black dragon's breath? That is a cursed burn Jerona. If left untreated, it can cause horrible ailments in you." Yama says.

"Come here, I shall cure it."

[KonokoHasano]

"Ah, I had no idea." She said as she gave a nod, walking over to Yama and showing her back. "Best for it to be dealt with quickly."

[Blaze]

Yama nods and opens his book. A ball of light emerges and sinks itself into his chest. His hands start to glow and he gently touches the burn, causing it to start healing, green whips escaping from it.

[KonokoHasano]

Jerona closes her eyes, allowing Yama to go to work healing in her back.

[Blaze]

Soon, the glow fades as Yama finishes healing the burn. The orb of light re-emerges from his chest and floats back into the book

"Done!"
