Jerona: Lessons in Psychopomping

[Blaze]

Some time after the events in Yama's temple, Jerona, the newly minted shinigami receives a telepathic call from Yama during the night. Should she answer, she finds him in Muffinville, sitting atop a large water buffalo with two large black dogs napping at his feet.

[KonokoHasano]

"... I suppose that's as good as any place to sit." Jerona commented as she appeared and stared at the water buffalo.

[Blaze]

Yama chuckles and pats the buffalo.

"His name's Boris. I've had him for a long long time..."

He leaps off and stands before Jerona.

"Tonight, I'll teach you how to release good spirits and destroy bad ones. Are you ready?"

[Kether]

*In order to help any would be psychopomps goes around the city releasing people from their mortal coil. IS a helper like that!*

[KonokoHasano]

Jerona gives a quick nod, her eyes changing to have a slight look of interest. "I am ready; I want to figure out how to use these skills to their fullest."

[Blaze]

Yama smiles and nods.

"What would you like to learn first? Defeating and purifying evil spirits, or helping the spirits of the deceased pass on?"

[KonokoHasano]

"Defeating and purifying evil spirits might be the best option at the moment." She said after a moment of consideration.

[Blaze]

Yama nods and whistles, causing the two dogs to perk up. Jerona can see that they have four eyes, all of which are red.

"Evil spirit. Sniff one out boys!"

Both dogs stand up and hungrily sniff the air. They growl and speed off!

"They found one. Hop on!"

Yama pats the buffalo's back, shifting over to make room for Jerona.

[KonokoHasano]

Jerona just stares at the buffalo again. "Are you serious?" She asked incredulously. Shaking her head, she proceeds to hop onto the creature.

[Blaze]

Yama smiles and pats the buffalo's head. With a groan, he lurches after the dogs. He moves at a plodding pace... but the world seems to bend and fold around them, and they arrive with the dogs seconds later! They're standing outside a burnt out industrial complex, the smell of smoke still lingering in the air.

Yama tosses the dogs a thick steak each and smiles.

"There's one in there."

[KonokoHasano]

"Hrm" Jerona let out, nose twitching slightly at the smell as she hops off the buffalo. "Let's see how this works out." She said as she made her way inside of the complex.

[Blaze]

"I'll jump in if you find yourself struggling." Yama says as he follows Jerona into the burnt out building. Within, an oppressive atmosphere presses down on the shinigami.

"Keep your ears peeled." Yama advises.

[KonokoHasano]

"Hrn... quite an air around here." She muttered, listening closely as she moved around within the building.

[Blaze]

As she moves through, she can hear something... a low bass line that is getting louder and closer!

[KonokoHasano]

Carefully holds her scythe as she heads closer to the sound, ears listening for any other movement, senses extending to feel around her. She remained calm and cool.
